“At last we have found the perfect Hotel in Chamonix”
Reviewed 22 March 2014 via mobile

We have been to Chamonix over the last 7yrs or so and have stayed in other Hotels like Alpina, Prieurie and Valle Blanche and have left always really disappointed with everything. We love Chamonix so this is why we come back, we tried Hotel Faucingny this time and it was perfect!! The staff are extremely helpful, the rooms are lovely, the breakfast is perfect and the afternoon tea is a real treat après ski.

The Spa is small but very relaxing. This is by miles the best Hotel in Chamonix and we will stay here every time we visit beautiful Chamomix.

Merci bien to the staff of Hotel Faucingny.

Great location in Chamonix center, close to the buses for the slopes (Le Tour 15-20min ride), and on the door step to some great restaurant's (Le Cap Horn and Le Flambee). The rooms are small, but it worked for us. The staff we're friendly and very helpful. Loved and enjoyed tea and cakes from 4-6pm. Nice little spa also. This places does what it says on the Tin.

We booked this excellent hotel (B&B) based on the reviews on Tripadvisor. Although we arrive late night the concierge was very helpful and brought us to our room. Although they are small (no 203 & 206) they are clean, practical and quit. All you need for a restful sleep after a day on the slopes.
The breakfast is excellent with local products, real bread (!), helpful staff with an eye for details.
The overall friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is remarkable and by far above the standard you can find in even 5* hotels. Well done girls!
We will for sure go back....

Room Tip: try to get a room on the front side, at least you will have a view. If you are located under the roo...

The Faucigny is an amazing small hotel with absolutely superb staff.

It is located right in centre of Chamonix. Breakfast was so good and plentiful - a choice of many breads, cheese, yogurts, bacon, egg, fruit, juices, tea and coffee. Afternoon tea was also amazing with a great choice of many cakes, hot chocolate, tea and coffee. The ski storage area is conveniently located in the basesment and it is extremely organised and clean. Our room was a superior room (standard room is quite small so I recommend superior) which had ample space in it for a skiing holiday. The beds are really comfortable and the view from the room was super (ask for a room at the front of the hotel) There is an amazing choice of restaurants within a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

This is the perfect hotel - situated next to the church (no problem with the churchbells).
The staff is attentive and very serviceminded.
The breakfast is quite good, müsli, eggs, bacon, bread etc. They do not sell wine/alcohol in the hotel, but you can buy wine and food and eat it in the dining room. They also have a small jacuzzi and a tiny sauna - perfect after a day in the slopes.
The best room is # 10. Rooms facing the back of the hotel, like # 116 a nice familyroom, gets a lot of noise every monday and friday - starting at around 05:30 because stores nearby are getting their supplies. If renting skies, they can have the store come to the hotel, and if you are bringing your own, there is a great skiroom in the basement. They also offer free waterbottles to take with you when going skiing - a nice gesture.
Loved the hotel - and would definitely come back.

Room Tip: The best room is nr.10. Rooms facing the back has a lot of noise every monday and friday morning - s...

You can't beat the location - 30 metres from the main pedestrian street and a 2 minute walk to the bus stop.

The hotel is well set up for a skiing holiday with convenient storage of skis and and ski boots in the basement.

Breakfast was great for a three star hotel in France and the complimentary afternoon tea is a nice touch.

Staff is exceptionally professional and pleasant!

Internet in the room suffered from poor reception, wasn't accepting connections on occasion, and was incredibly slow at times.

The Faucigny is located right in the heart of Chamonix, and has on-site parking. It is a characterful old building, that has been completely and thoughtfully refitted within the last 3 years in a very comfortable and attractive style. The rooms are not large, but are well planned and furnished; it would be best to ask for one with normal (rather than velux) windows. Modest breakfast with excellent breads direct from the bakery around the corner, and good coffee. The best thing about the hotel though is the staff, who could not have been more helpful and pleasant (and who speak good English). Highly recommended.
