“If you can walk up MANY steps, so this.”
Review of Grotte de Glace

Reviewed 13 April 2014 via mobile

This was a very cool experience. You have to be somewhat fit, because there are many steps. But the cave is very neat. If you can't so many steps, I'd do the train because that is pretty neat. And then just look at he glacier from the top. The view is just spectacular.

We went today to the glacier, after the train which is very nice and a gondola to the glacier we walked down 400 stairs against huge numbers of skiers coming back up. Once we got to the glacier we walked in and touched the ice which is the best part of this whole experience. The tunnel has mannequins dressed as French royalty who visited the glacier hundreds of years ago, plaques and pictures. It all just seems a little tacky, but being inside a glacier is a real experience! We didn't spend much time here and walked back up the 400 steps, there were A LOT of skiers so get behind one and wait for a slow ascent back up.

The ice cave itself is quite interesting.
The trip going to the cave is quite challenging and but obviously it is worthy.
You will have a closer experience to see, touch and to feel the glacier directly.
It is a nice experience....

Once you finished the cave trip, you can try to go to the hotel close to the station.
Around the hotel you will find an amazing view of the Alps around.
