Just stayed at Ducs de Savoie with a corporate group and the location and staff are first rate. Rooms are a bit tired but the service, especially from Sylvie the Manageress and Laurent in the in-house ski shop, was exemplary. Food was very good and, as we ate out on one night, we had lunch on our last day instead and the choice was superb. Remember about high Courchevel prices and then, relatively speaking, this hotel represents fair value. I will be returning with groups and probably family!

Me and my wife enjoyed our ski vacation at "ducs de svoie" very much. The hotel is a traditional svoie hotel. A Very good traditional French cuisine. A very warm service from the hotel staff. The hotel feels very organized and very well managed.
The hotel is located higher in courchevel far from the city center noise but it’s 5 minutes walk to the center (or one minute with the ski lift)
In and out ski, the slopes are at the door.
The service in the hotel ski room is very professional and kind.
The price is a bit high but fair for the service and hospitality you receive.
The price of drinks in the hotel bar are significantly lower than outside.
We will definitely go back again.
Thank you duc de svoie staff and management!

Wanted a short break in what is always one of the most expensive resorts in Europe

This hotel, like most 3 stars in Courchevel, has adequate comforts. Paper thin walls in the rooms (but room sizes a bit larger than most). Extortionate bar prices (we had iced water and I then tipped brandy from my hip flask into the empty glass! But great food, a comfortable lounge for after dinner game of pool or cards, first rate brekfast and dinner.

Wondrful ski shop in the basement of the hotel, with really helpful staff and a wrm welcome from everyone

And best of all, you can actually ski to the door

We will happily return

Not a perfect hotel by any means - the decor is all a bit dated and the rooms aren't particularly big, but all that is more than made up for by the friendly atmosphere, the superb food, the in-house ski rental, and most of all the fantastic location.
Set in the Jardin Alpin area, it's ski-in and out on the green JA piste, literally 2 seconds from a drag lift, or 2 minutes ski down to the Croisette - absolutely none of that walking in ski boots nonsense! And if you're not skiing it's a short walk to the gondola which runs until 8pm if you don't fancy the 15 minute walk down to the centre of town, or the free navette stops outside the hotel.
The guys in the ski rental shop are really helpful and will have your skis waiting for you outside in the morning
The restaurant is wonderful, 5 course dinner every night, ( no chance of losing weight on this holiday! ). It's the usual French-style limited choice but most nights still found it difficult to decide. And breakfast is an unlimited buffet with a good selection of cereals, pastries, fruit, ham, cheese, scrambled eggs etc.
The staff throughout the hotel are friendly and helpful, and mostly speak English; the rooms are clean, and although it's probably not cheap by ordinary hotel standards you do have to remember that this is Courchevel and that compared to other establishments in the same area I reckon it's not too bad.
And lastly, I think the reviews by RachelSurrey, and Sammie,Bicester, must be for a different hotel - Esprit don't use this hotel, but they do have one with the same name in Val D'Isere, and the management aren't called Stuart and Tom

The hotel is classed as a 3 star and we found it over priced for just 3 stars. the bar prices are high, 12 euros for any 2 soft drinks is a bit steep.
The staff however are fantastic, the preferred language in the hotel is french, but they soon use english if the words arent flowing.
The room decor and around the hotel is very basic and old fashioned, again fine for 3 stars, but for the prices you would expect something better.
The food in the restaurant is very good with extensive menus and some unusual dishes and combinations. The maitre di is young and inexperienced and unfortunately didnt have the air of distinction that the restaurant deserves. Our waiter Sebastian was fantastic with wonderful attention to detail which made our meals enjoyable and relaxed.
The front desk girls are wonderful and check-in and out was very easy and quick, with all features of the hotel explained.
The pool is lovely if you have children, but there are no quiet areas to sit and relax if you want an hour away from the noise.
For us, the outstanding feature of the hotel is it's location and ski rental room !! Fabulous !! The ski men sort you out with the most comfortable and suitable boots and skis and changing any item is no problem.
Once you are kitted out, you can ski literally out of the hotel on to one of the pistes and within 30 seconds you are at a drag lift, or go further down and you can meet one of the chair lifts or bubble cars - excellent !!

We went just after Christmas, over new year 2007. It is very much a family hotel...catering very well for children. The staff cannot be praised enough! Everyone from Stuart and Tom (managemant) to Nicola and sis Sarah etc were genuinely polite and helpful, even carrying our suitcases down to the bus in the snow on the last day!

On the down side, some of the guests were weird..some letting their kids scream or cry in corridors at night/early morning-happens sometimes..but the hotel itself was very basic, unlike the brochure. No contact with the real world - tv/papers or radio, and if you got the room next to the lift, you could hear the mechanical whirr...all night!

Nice resort, but apart from the staff, this hotel is nothing to write home about!

I've been there twice. First time only me and a friend, second tme with my family. Very hospitable place, good family atmosphere. My limited french was no obstacle although the french obviously prefer their own language.

For a family, the hotel offeres sizable and well equipped family rooms, and children are very welcome at the hotel. And they loved the pool, obviously.

For two young men, the place was a bit quiet, but then again, we came for the skiing, not the night life (which in our experience was totally absent - at the hotel anyway).

I recommend to anyone who seeks a stay at a place nice, hospitable place with excellent food. For sports, the hotel is in the middle of the slopes.
