The promenade in Evian-les-Bains along the shores of Lake Geneva / Lac Leman is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, people watching alongside the lake and beautiful flowers of Evian. Eat at one of the many restaurants right off the Main Street parallel to the promenade. There are several shops, too, with nice gifts. I bought a beautiful hand-made necklace at a flea market that was set up on a Sunday afternoon.
If you have more time, then take one of the many boats across the lake to Lausanne, Montreux, Chateau Chillon or Vevey. More to explore there as well.
