Hipark Grenoble

My wife and I spent four nights at the Grenoble Hipark. The location allows for a ten minute walk to the city center and there are some good restaurants in the area. Parking can be an issue if you drive and haven't reserved one of the limited spots at the hotel. Most importantly, the room was very modern and comfortable and the friendly hotel staff went out of their way to assist us in any way they could.

Room Tip: Try to reserve parking WAY ahead of time. They have very few available spaces at the hotel and the...

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for three nights and had a good experience.

Pros: Rooms are large (especially for Europe). Included a mini kitchen with fridge, coffee, dishwasher. Hotel was very clean, well kept. A lot of random luxuries that made the stay very nice. Ex. TV with personal messages, towel warmer in restroom, etc. Hotel is easy to find, very close to train station. Staff was helpful, spoke great English.

Cons: Hotel is expensive. For some reason the toilet is not part of the bathroom and requires you to walk to the other side of the room? Maybe I'm not accustomed to European standards but that seemed odd :) Breakfast looked decent, but I could never justify the 14 euros/pp when there are plenty of small bakeries around the area.

Other: One of the higher-end hotel in Grenoble, a nice stay, but still rather expensive. There are probably more economical places, but if you have money to spare you'll enjoy yourself enough.

The place is beautiful. Very modern design, however the rooms are best admired rather than lived in. I had a studio with a little kitchen area. The bed was a sofa bed, not the most comfortable. A murphy bed would have been a better setup.

The washrooms were nice, however the water splashed a little bit. The maid service was every couple of days.

No bed in the rooms, only sofa bed...which is actually just a sofa with a matress on top.

Only wired internet in the hotel....no WiFi

Room Tip: Beware when choosing sofa beds...your lower back may suffer

Great value for money. No own restaurant, but close to the fantastic Brasserie du Palais. Run by one person only, which must be hard. Breakfast is nice.

As a mid way stop on our way to Switzerland this was the perfect hotel. Very reasonable rates, clean and new. The family room allows for children to sleep on a nice sofa sleeper and parents have their own room. Great buffet breakfast that kids under 12 eat for free. Friendly staff, overall a really nice experience.
