“Modern, convenient for station and self-catering”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Room was modern and very comfortable, like a small studio apartment. Bed was fold-away sofa bed, but was nevertheless comfortable and gave plenty of day space. The decor was modern with very fresh look, although it may not wear well in the long term.

This is a "residence" meaning it is self catering, which was excellent for cost saving. Facilities were good with fridge, small hob, pots, cutlery and plates, dishwasher etc. It was unclear if using supplied kitchen cleaning materials was charged as an extra.

Only a 5 min walk from the main Grenoble Station in a quiet cul de sac.

There was no obvious shop nearby so plan ahead, otherwise an arabic grocery on Cours Berriat is fun to navigate. Nearby on Cours Berriat are also the excellent "Boulangerie David", a pharmacy and the tram stop Saint Bruno.

Staff were polite and attentive. No real noise from inside or outside the hotel, notwithstanding a short period related to Fete de la Musique which is hardly something to complain about.

Room Tip: Take the "Executive Studio" option for worthwhile extra space. From station there is an ea...

Very clean apartment with very comfortable bed and good facilities. Very helpful friendly staff made our stay pleasurable.
Also a good location and excellent value if you pay in advance.
Good secure basement garage parking via car lift but best to book space in advance.
Our only problem was the difficult shower control and leaky seal which made the floor wet but reception staff provided extra towels so this wasn't a major problem.

Room Tip: Go for Executive Suite with double bedroom and separate living / kitchen area

I have been travelling a lot, for business and pleasure, and it was the first time that I had run out of hot water in my hotel room... i had to stay in the bathroom for nearly 10 minutes, waiting for the hot water.. except for that, there was no normal bed in the room, but a couch that was transformed to bed.. you can understand that it was not the quality that we were looking for.. we asked for a room with a normal bed and they told us that we would have to pay for an upgrade (since a normal bed is considered an upgrade for them).. at least is was relatively close to the city centre..

My daughter and I stayed for 4 nights last week and we both found no problems with Hipark. In a quiet location within easy reach of the town. Staff were very helpful and friendly and room spotless. Didn't eat here as we thought the breakfast was pricey at €14, but plenty of reasonably priced eateries nearby. The wi fi worked once we got the password etc. The Hipark is thoroughly recommended for value for money and will stay again. :-)

Arrived for a stay of 14 days, and was advised room booked directly with hotel wasn't available but immediately asked to leave a 700 euro deposit. Finally got into expected room 4 days later. Room smelled horrible - definitely something rotting in the sink. The towel/sheet service came once - in 10 days!! WiFi did not work on the 3rd floor - at all; however, it worked on the ground floor and on the first floor. Hotel staff are rude. Petit Dejeuner is dreadful - not worth the money. Stay clear of this hotel!!!

Room Tip: WiFi doesn't work on the 3rd floor.

I have been staying in this hotel twice during business trips to Grenoble.
The hotel is conveniently located if you arrive to Grenoble by train, from the Gare SNCF it takes around 5-10 minutes by foot to reach the hotel. Travelling by car, you need to hope that a space is available in the hotel's car park (there is only a limited number of parking spaces), as finding a parking space in the street nearby the hotel can be a challenge.
A number of restaurants can be reached by foot from the hotel, as well as a small supermarket.

The rooms/ apartments I had during both times were spacious, with a separate sleeping room, bathroom and separate toilet. A small kitchenette (with a little stove, a fridge, sink and a dishwasher) comes with the apartment, unfortunately it's quite poorly equipped with crockery, cutlery and other kitchenware (e.g. a little coffee machine would be nice, as well as a toaster) so if one would really like to cook a meal there it would take some effort.

Hotel staff was really nice and helpful and everyone spoke quite good English.

The biggest deficite for me though was the cleanliness of the room - housekeeping comes around only every second day, which is acceptable though for an aparthotel) - but bathroom had a lot of scale stains on the taps and the shower cubicle, there was some hair from previous guests still in the bathroom etc. The carpet in the rooms looked already a bit worn out and the walls and curtains next to the windows had mildew spots on them. Bedsheets were clean, but had tiny holes.

If you stay at the hotel, you should ask for a room further away from the elevator, as it's making a lot of screeching noises.

Breakfast was not included in my room arrangement, and would have cost 20 Euros per day, for which the offered variety of food and drinks is not really sufficient (it's cheaper and better to have a coffee and croissant in one of the cafes close to the hotel in this case).

Reviewed 14 February 2014 via mobile

We have previously recommended this hotel and this was a repeat visit for us at the end of our skiing holiday. We are regular travellers and have stayed at some of the best hotels around the world. Our stay at the Hipark in Grenoble last week was the worst experience we have ever had at any hotel. Despite an apparently strict security system in the hotel lifts where you had to swipe your room card to gain access to floors above ground level someone appeared to have overridden this to give any number of people access to a party in the room immediately adjacent to ours on the fourth floor. This led to loud music, shouting, screaming and constant activity in the middle of the night, including people standing right outside our bedroom window as there is a balcony area in front of the fourth floor rooms. Party goers rang our door bell several times and the whole situation was both inconvenient and intimidating. Despite asking them to be quiet personally and ringing reception twice nothing changed. In the end we had to ask to move rooms in the middle of the night, repack our belongings and relocate ourselves. No apology or compensation was offered the following morning. I have written a letter of complaint to both the Head Office and the Hotel Manager and after nearly a week no one has even the had the courtesy of replying. The lack of care for us as guests during our stay was an absolute disgrace and we felt at risk due to the hotel's lack of care/security. The subsequent absence of any response only serves to emphasise that this hotel group clearly don't care about their guests. Do not stay here.
