It was just a 7km hike, but it was enough to check that the sights are magnificent and that the Park is very well organized. There are many signs indicating distances & places.

The landscapes, the people and the FOOD ! The regional specialties are terrific, from the incredible cheeses to the jams and the breads, the pastries, as well as the wines.... It's a good thing there's a lot of walking to do, otherwise one could <balloon> very quickly.

We were travelling from the Alps to Provence and wanted to spend the day driving through the Vercors and had done a lot of research on the best route to take. We spent the night before in Grenoble as we wanted to maximize our driving in the Vercors. This turned out to be one of the highligts of 2 weeks in France. The Vercors is a stunning natural feature of limestone mountains, valleys, and crevasses and the driving is spectacular. The most famous road goes through the Col De La Machine (google it!). We probably spent 5 hours driving in the Vercors and at the end, I was completely exhausted. It is not for the faint at heart or for lazy drivers! And make sure to watch out for numerous cyclists around each corner. There are limited gas, and food options. A good mid point to stop is Pont en Royans where you can eat and visit look at the hanging houses from the river back below.

Amazing area of greenery. Narrow roads which could be a problem and the sat nav helps too. Don't be in a rush.

This is a niouce place to visit and relax on a day trip on weekend when you are in Grenoble. It's bit far from main city centre (I went by car, but saw some guys cycling on that way), The way towards this place is really great with green meadows and small hills on both sides.

Also I really liked the caves there of pre-historic times and light/sound show inside that. Even though the guide there speaks in French, but the inside of caves were really interesting and well preserved.
