I spent many a great evening at this restaurant in the days when I traveled to Lyon at least once or twice a month.
It is different from other restaurants: you will hardly find two identical chairs or tables here, and the atmosphere is always very cosy and amicable. I always read the "terrible" reviews, and the ones I see here seem (as they often are) a bit unreasonable: so someone happened to be there just the night they had a new waiter, and waited for two hours for his main course...? Never happened to me. And maybe he could have asked a bit earlier...
Service here has always been really good; the atmosphere is friendly, open.... if it takes a bit long, you ask... simple. So don't go here if you are in a rush. If you're in a rush, you should go to McDonalds. Go here if you want to spend a pleasant evening with great food, good wines (they have plenty to chose from per glass/caraffe), not to mention the impressive beer-list.
The food has always been great here. You can rely on recommendations from the proprietaire or the chef. They know what they're doing.
Every visit I make to Lyon, I'm happy to make an extra effort to go and dine here!

Wow! When I first ate at this restaurant I just couldn't believe what I had stumbled upon. This is great cuisine, fresh and with tastes that go perfect together.
The restaurant is typically French, in a very creative, joie de vivre, kind of way. It is small, the tables and chairs all differ, there is a sort of porch for eating outside that gives a great outdoor atmosphere. The restaurant is a bit tucked away in a street underneath some stairs. I got the impression that many locals eat here. So it wouldn't surprise me if they would not want too many tourists in the place. I love France and speak French quite well, and I found them to be super-super-friendly and correct.

They call their cuisine 'inventive'. Everything is fresh from the market. I had an entree of cheese in brique. It was delicious, even though it was heavy. After that I had duck, great too. Then I was stuffed, so I had to pass on the dessert. The white wine was also excellent.

After Lyon I went to the mountains for a week, but I came back a day before my flight, just to eat at this restaurant again. The food was great again, but this time I had no entree, so that I could have dessert. I must say that my choice of dessert, a piece of pie, was a bit dissapointing after such great food. But at the table next to me a girl was almost licking her dessertplate, so I may just have made the wrong choice. The French pies are not very sweet anyway.

The price was good, if you look at the quality of the food. I think I paid about 35 euro for entree, dinner and a glass of excellent wine. But I am not certain about that, it was half a year ago. I do know that this meal would have probably cost me double in Amsterdam. But I could never find this kind of ambiance there.
