After reading the good reviews in Trip Advisor, we decided to visit this restaurant when we are in Lyon. We booked 2 months in advance by email from Australia. We were not disappointed by the experience. The menu was a set degustation of 8 courses with amuse bouche, cheese and petit fours. There was a choice of paired wines with the courses and we chose the 4 wine option. The decor was magnificent and the table settings, cutlery and crockery were of high standard. The food were superb... Sort of like French cuisine with some Japanese influences. Service was superb and attentive. Sure, it was a little pricey....but one must be prepared to pay for good food and service. We were very happy with the experience at this restaurant.

Thank you, Chef Tsuyoshi Arai....MERCI BEAUCOUP, ARIGATO GOZAIMASHITA!

Good quality, good service, but the inventive cuisine is a bit too much. There was just a mousse too much!

Booked it over a month in advance, and expected great dinner for the last night in Lyon.
But - it was only nice, not the best.
Atmosphere was clean in Japanese style - without too much.
Nice starters - boiled egg with mustard that was a strange combination. Almost transparent toast with the Lyon sausage on the center was nice.
One of the best dish was 3-kinds tomato carpaccio with watermelon sauce.
Foie gras was average, lack of taste.
Fish - average, lack of taste but nice prepared, precise and the right texture. It was accompanied with celery mush that was outstanding as well as the seaweed.
Pork - in ham style, but too gummy on the teeth, again lack of taste except the smoky part.
Plate of cheeses was great.
Sorbet of bitter caramel was outstanding but the mousse of Guinness beer was punch in the eye and it almost ruined everything.
Desert was great and could be served anywhere.
But overall experience was just the average.
Vine was nice, but there was a lack of water that we had to remind the waitress all the time to bring, no matter that there were two of them serving people on 7 tables!

First let me tell you that I have spent five days in Lyon as it is dubbed the gastronomical capital of France. My foot! We have saved this restaurant for the last as it was supposed to be the best and boy, were we disappointed. You can eat better and more flavoursome food anywhere in Barcelona, not to mention Madrid or San Sebastian, which I truly believe is the foodie capital of the world! For the money you pay, 82 Euros I would expect consistency and amazing taste, but out od 8 dishes, perhaps two were top notch, definitely desserts and the others I cannot even recall and I was there two nights ago! The service was impeccable, the interior nice, the wine suggested fantastic, pity the food lacked character or was too chewy. i honestly cannot understand how did this restaurant become number one in Lyon??? Obviously people are snoba, if they pay a lot, they assume it is the best. I would happily pay more and have done so in many different establishmenst, but this time the price did not equal quality.
