This is the fifth Michellin starred restaurant that I have visited this year. Each has its own character and I was quite impressed by Au 14 Fevrier Vieux Lyon and would say that it is a worthy holder of its star. The service was very good and the waiters were very helpful: service is very good and what one should expect from a quality establishment. There is a set menu, but strangely they do not tell you what you are having until the dish is served. They do however check if there is anything that you do not like and will change it accordingly. The obvious downside is that selecting an appropriate wine to accompany your meal is not possible if you do not know what you are eating. There is always the option of going with the restaurant's own wine selection though.

When the food was served it was generally of a very high standard with some excellent sauces. I would go as far as saying that some of the dishes were worthy of a higher starred restaurant. The only negative was a pheasant dish hitch was a little tough, but still well flavoured though.

Definitely a worthwhile restaurant to include in a gastronomic week in Lyon and I would certainly return. I would particularly recommend the restaurant for anyone wishing for a romantic meal with someone special in their life: there are many touches which go towards making the experience memorable.

For a special occasion, during our recent European holiday, we chose to dine at Au 14 Fevrier. Had to book it months in advance, which is annoying, but hey - it's a small restaurant that deserves its reputation.

Earlier this year in Kyoto we had a marvellous French-Japanese fusion meal, and were hoping for something similar. Sadly was not to be - this is really pure French, just served on Japanese crockery. Fortunately, it is really good French, so not a problem.

At restaurants like this, my standards require exceptionally attentive service, a range of extremely pleasant "extras" (like amuses, breads, sorbets etc), all dishes must be at least palatable (allowing for some experimentation to be less than stellar), and during the course of the dinner there must be at least one truly amazing dish.

Au 14 Fevrier delivered on all counts. In fact, there were several truly amazing dishes - the Waffle with mustard sauce in egg shell, the richest Foie Gras we had anywhere, and a stunning dish of sea bass with sea vegetables and mussels. Yum.

Would be very, very pleased to return here.

While we were in Lyon we hit all of the top restaurants. This was, by far, our best meal. It is easily one of the best meals I've ever head. The wine parings were outstanding and each course was impressive. We'll certainly be back if we return to Lyon.

Amazing saturday lunch invited by some friends who made the reservation 2 months ahead. Just one menu and seemed a little bit expensive but so much work in the plate, you have to love food to go there and appreciate it. The down side of this restaurant is that the waiter clearly didn't speak french and barely english

After reading the good reviews in Trip Advisor, we decided to visit this restaurant when we are in Lyon. We booked 2 months in advance by email from Australia. We were not disappointed by the experience. The menu was a set degustation of 8 courses with amuse bouche, cheese and petit fours. There was a choice of paired wines with the courses and we chose the 4 wine option. The decor was magnificent and the table settings, cutlery and crockery were of high standard. The food were superb... Sort of like French cuisine with some Japanese influences. Service was superb and attentive. Sure, it was a little pricey....but one must be prepared to pay for good food and service. We were very happy with the experience at this restaurant.

Thank you, Chef Tsuyoshi Arai....MERCI BEAUCOUP, ARIGATO GOZAIMASHITA!
