“A delightful part of Lyon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

We visited this part of Lyon with our hosts in the week prior to Christmas 2013. We didn't visit any particular attraction here, basically it was just a walk around in the early evening to soak up the Christmas atmosphere. The Christmas markets were delightful as were the many shops and the lights were spectacular. This was a part of Lyon we had not visited on a previous trip but I would recommend to any visitor to Lyon, especially at Christmas.

There are two museums open in this area, dedicated to the former silk trade, each with working loom.

“Can't be missed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014

Croix rousse is as lovely as fun to explore and there is a lot to see. If you are in shape, don't hesitate to climb up the stairs of the grande cote to walk around les pentes de la croix rousse for panoramic views of the city below. Don't miss the mur peint des canuts on the corner of boulevard des canuts and Denfer Rochereau, and the traboules like the famous cour des voraces. Plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques.

“Only on Sundays unless you like graffiti...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2014

Took the train up to la Croix Rousse. It was a week day so no market.View of La Saone is great.
The walk down is interesting and I was impressed by some great grafftis.
Finished by the famous trompe-l'oeil by the river.

“The fruits of Lyon!”

There is an amazing outdoor market here almost every day with delicious local cheeses, meats and produce...exactly the fare Lyon is known for. Do not miss!
