The cross rouses is a somewhat nice neighbourhood, but nothing that special . The nicest thing is to follow the old pathways marked by the city lion.

We started out our visit to the neighborhood with a walk through the market. Great wares, and wonderful foods on display. We started our walk at the Rock and wandered down the narrow streets until we ended up at the Opera House.

My only complaint was that many things were closed due to the August holiday, but overall, it was a lovely walk, an interesting neighborhood, and really full of wonderful treasures like an old Roman Amphitheater, murals, and history of the silk industry.

Bring comfortable shoes though, there are a lot of stairs.

We worked our way up the hill to this charming part of town. Once there we found a glorious market selling clothing and food (real fresh yummy ginger). We found the Le Mur Des Canuts and the silk museum then walked down to Parc de la Tete d'Or.

I used the audio-guided tour to walk through Croix Rousse, after a short visit to the wall with the 3D illusion graffiti at Henon. It was the heart of the silk industry but it is nothing special unless you have the narration to help you imagine how life was, the importance of the person that his statue is in the center of the square, how puppet theater was invented there (btw: it was initially for adults and that’s the reason that many of the puppets are still like this e.g. silk worker with pony-tail hair /police officer/alcoholic ), how the funicular was built and the obstacles with the heart-shaped boulder you see in the east part etc.
