Visiting the old Gestapo HQ for me, as a history buff, was very moving. The memorabilia from that scary past was first class. This is the home of Klau Barbie, the butcher of Lyon , was HQed.
Unfortunately English is not given much billing since most everything is in French. Just make some of the exhibits more assessable for English speaking tourists. Staff was very helpful.
No real brochures except the $37 book on the building. Glad I went...Scary place.

Thank eyeu

Very friendly staff and an interesting & thought provoking exhibition. No doubt french speakers would get more out of the museum, but there is enough English content to make it worthwhile

A very informative museum about life in Lyon during the German occupation and the organisation of resistance in the city. It is actually located in the former HQ of Klaus Barbie. Don't miss the film featuring edits from the Barbie trial.

really enjoyed learning more about the resistance, lyon and the impact the war and deportations had on the city and surrounding areas.
Good expos in French and English making understanding easy for the majority, also good literature on offer.

When traveling, we like to find things that are unique in a city. As the one time center of the Resistance, Lyon is the perfect place for this museum, housed in the old Gestapo headquarters. There are many exhibits with multi-lingual (French and English) audio and video presentations, and a film about Klaus Barbie, Butcher of Lyon, in both languages. I wish I spoke French better, as I would have gotten more out of the source documents and posters on display, but I got a real sense of the Resistance here.
