“Wonderful”

Our French isn't good enough for us to enjoy proper theatre in France but seeing the wonderful group of 7 acrobats under the supermoon sitting on those ancient benches was unforgettable. What a night!

“Incredible”

Lyon and other cities along the Rhone have some of the best preserved Roman architecture in the world. You don't have to go to Rome to see ruins. You will have a much more leisurely time to view these historic monuments if you visit the Rhone area of France. I admit that I am a history buff and am fascinated by the work of the Romans. I won't be around to see it, but I wonder how some of our glass, steel and concrete monstrosities will fare in 2000 years.

“Those Romans knew what they were about -what a venue!”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Impressive ruins some parts of which have been 'reinstated' so that audience can sit round and watch performances. While we were there they were doing sound checks for upcoming performances and we were blown away by the band on stage and the perfect location. I would LOVE to go to a full blown musical performance there - I am sure it would be a 'never to be forgotten' experience.

“Roman ruins in France!”
Reviewed 2 July 2014 via mobile

We again took advantage of the Lyon city card and rode up the funicular to see the ruins. I appreciate how we'll they are preserved as well as used! There are two stages which are regularly used for large events. It would face been nice to have more signs explaining the different areas but it is a completely free site so I can't really ask for more.
