Stayed here for 2 nights after arriving by TGV from London. Located in the old town of Lyon, this Hotel is an old converted merchants courtyard. The restauration to convert to Hotel doesnt detract from its features which are typical of the Traboules in the old city. Wi-fi is free here and worked well. Breakfast is taken in the centre covered courtyard which all the floors look down onto. The sunken bath was exuberant, as you enter the bathroom via big theatrical curtains. The staff were helpfull and professional. They have a Spa and swimming pool (noted not large) but we didnt get to sample them, they looked good though. The food in the area goes without saying, however speaking French helps - a lot! It's close to the river Saône too. The Trollybus will get you from the SNCF station Lyon Part Dieu in about 10 mins, but the bus stops are not right outside the station or next to the hotel, so do some research or take a cab. The hotel is at the foot of Fourvière hill, worth a trip up on the Funicular and then walk down. All in all an excellent Hotel, superb for both Business or pleasure.
Thank you, and that will be nice to welcome you again.
I stayed there because I was staying in a palace in Geneva and they recommended this hotel to me for is charming part. I totally agree that this hotel is very nice from an architectural side. The Spa is small but nice, a bit old I think. The swimming pool is a bit cold and the hammam smells old dirty socks... should put some eucalyptus essence.
The room was ok... could not say more when looking at the dust in the room and the traces on the glass and mirror!!! The bed was very small, like a queen size.
The Breakfast was vey nice.
We had booked massage at the Spa until 1pm and asked for a late check out just to have time to change ourselves after the SPA. the staff do not hesitate to call you in the room at 1 in the morning to let you know that your SPA appointments have changed and that will be until 12 noon so that you can leave the hotel straight after.
Upon arrival very nice welcoming, very nice person... no information, no confirmation given such as to reconfirm SPA time, Breakfast time and location when looking at your reservation. Check out, very nice just missing a little smile and if you sit on a chair in front of the guest, at least sit properly, do not lie on the chair.
Concierge at night have directly understood what we wanted and booked a table in a very nice restaurant. Very good service and very good concierge. But concierge in the morning ... totally french: very very arrogant... when you ask him think and they cannot provide in this hotel, he does not hesitate to remind you that they are ONLY A 4 STAR HOTEL... is that service???
Parking is 35 euros but at 12 noon when you leave the room the car has to leave the garage of the hotel, so you have to go park somewhere else to finish your day and visit lyon. Cheap parking just near the hotel.... the is robbery!
We're sorry that our guest's stay was marked out by these inconveniences.
An enquiry has now started and correcting dispoals are already taken.
We are doing our best for our guests to appreciate our service and we are working on the way to success.
This was my second stay at Cour des Loges, my husband's first. Both times the staff were exceptionally kind and friendly and welcoming. When I needed ice packs for my bad back, they helped us purchase them, offered to keep them in the restaurant freezer and delivered them to our room night after night. Above and beyond I thought.
Head Concierge Gerard was exceptionally helpful and fun to talk to. Among many other things, he created an itinerary for a day trip to Beaujolais that included castles, medieval villages, a bird sanctuary and of course wineries. He sent us to a wonderful procession of people in Renaissance costumes which we would have missed entirely. He knew everything about his city and gave us lots of insider tips about museums, restaurants, etc.
We ate in the Cafe one night and the food was exceptionally good, though expensive. The restaurant in the hotel is gorgeous and known as one of the best in Lyon, though it was beyond our budget. There are lots of other options in the area.
I don't expect to have another hotel experience as wonderful as this one.
Thank you for your comment that deeply touched our staff.
Cour des Loges is conveniently located for the sightseer, but we saw many business travelers there, too. The daily breakfast is served in the elegant courtyard. All of the staff were courteous and helpful. The Concierge Services were exceptional, allowing us to dine at Lyon's most desirable tables. The recommendations for how to time our visit to "see the most of Lyon" was extremely helpful. All in all a wonderful experience at a wonderful venue.
Thank you. We are delighted to hear that our clients had such a nice time with us.
We stayed here for three nights. The first room we were shown to had a very dark corridoor outside, the floor inside was uneven and the shower was in the middle of the room obscurred by a carpet. The room was also very small so we asked to move. They had a much larger room at the back of the hotel which was much better. The room was generally clean but the toilet walls could have done with a bit of a clean. They were doing some work at the back of the hotel outside and did warn us of this but we did not hear any noise from this and it did not affect us. There was a dog living behind the hotel that barked every morning that was a bit irritating.
The new room had a constant buzzing noise coming from the electrical cupboard by the front door. After the first day the bathroom light stopped working so they moved us to a suite which was very nice.
All the rooms are a bit dark and the grey bathroom suites are a bit dated. There is a pool (very small) and gym, sauna and steam room. These facilities are very good.
The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and the bar is a very relaxing place with the best selection of single matls outside of Scotland. Be careful to check the prices though. The 21 year old Macallan was 68 Euros per glass.
The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Lyon and the area feels very safe.
