“A wonderful stay in this memorable hotel”
Reviewed 29 January 2012

My husband and I stayed with two of our adult children at Cour des Loges for three nights in January 2012. Keen to stay in the most historically interesting part of Lyon, we chose this hotel largely based on Tripadvisor reviews, and were not disappointed.

From the moment of our arrival we were welcomed, advised and well looked after by the hotel's outstanding concierges, Gerard, Francoise and Jean-Phillipe, and found Cour des Loges a particularly interesting place to stay. For visitors keen to explore Lyon's Medieval and Renaissance past and its narrow cobbled streets and arched passageways, the hotel's location was ideal. Originally owned by an Italian silk merchant during the Renaissance, this is a hotel with enormous character, but one in which modern conveniences are not overlooked. Our first floor rooms, situated around the beautiful internal courtyard, were pleasantly furnished, spotless and quiet and we slept soundly in the very comfortable beds. Our only minor quibble was that we would have liked a little more light in the room occasionally.

The buffet breakfast, served in the courtyard, was excellent - a delicious array provided by staff who were unobtrusive, polite and helpful. We dined once in the hotel's brasserie, and twice at local restaurants recommended by the concierges; these were all excellent and memorable meals.

Lyon deserved more than a three day visit, and we were sorry to leave this delightful hotel.
We will be back!

We stayed at Cour des Loges for a long weekend honeymoon, and we felt warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived.

The hotel's style is warm and characterful, and our room had a nice view and was most comfortable.

The standout aspect of our stay, however, was the expert and personable advice of the concierges, each of whom went to great lengths to advise and aid us in creating an interesting, even memorable itinerary of sightseeing, dining – and shopping.

If we had to find fault, it would only be with the somewhat temperamental wifi, and with the lack of in-room provision of things like a shoehorn, toothbrushes and a razor. The spa was also a little bit underwhelming (the word "spa" rather raises expectations), though perfectly serviceable. But these are tiny flaws in comparison to the otherwise overwhelmingly positive experience we enjoyed.

Thank you, Cour des Loges, for your hospitality.

One of the best ways to celebrate a wedding anniversary is by taking a trip together. A romantic trip at anniversary time gives you time to reconnect, reflect, and rekindle your passion. When possible without the kinds ;-).
France Gastronomie Center ; Lyon was the place to go.

This Hotel which is a renouned (*****) is just perfect.
Breakfest has beaufiful colours, dinner and lunch is only Nouvelle cuisine ( is an approach to cooking and food presentation used in French cuisine).
The price is much BUT you shall be happy ;-)

Room Tip: Checkout hotel's website, they have offers which cost much less You also have free WiFi and a...

We stayed there for the first time in October. The building is fantastic, though a few bad taste touches as the false door painting on one of the main walls in the dining room. Could be a little more authentic and less show off.
The room was dark, small and tired. Worse was the bathroom large mirror which was broken and where a branch of flowers have been painted directly on the mirror to hide it. Not quite what could be expected for this hotel standard. Toilet was in some kind of cupboard..

Breakfast buffet was amazing with Nespresso coffee which we sincerely appreciated.
Nice place to stay but definitely too expensive

We have recently returned from a 3 day break in Lyon, over NYE, which started with a missed flight and lost luggage. From the moment we arrived the entire team could have been more helpful with our (numerous) requests.

The hotel is beautiful, as has been stated in previous posts, and in a prime location for wondering through the old town.

I cannot recommend this establishment enough for anyone wanting a short break in this wonderful city.

Tip: when you've had enough of the local Bouchon cuisine head up the cable car and book yourself into the restaurant Christiane Tetedoie which has great food and wonderful views over the entire city

We selected this hotel because we wanted to stay right in Vieux Lyon for 4 nights. Strolling around Lyon was made easy and comfortable. This hotel was developed from 4 very old buildings, but it showcases its contemporary quality while retaining the feel of time past. Our decision was spot-on. Our room was comfortable, the service impeccable, the breakfast delicious and then there was Gerard Ravet, the concierge. In all of my travels, I have never encountered a more personable, knowledgeable and professional gentleman as Gerard. His knowledge of Lyon was outstanding. It seemed that every bouchon owner knows Gerard which really helped when we wanted reservations, directions, etc.

We had never visited Lyon, so this trip was very special. Lyon was a wonderful city that had plenty of things to see, do and experience. At times we felt as if we were the only Americans in town. A very special city for a very special event!

Room Tip: We had a choice of three different rooms. We looked at all three and selected the smallest one! Beca...

The only minus was the evening bar staff need some retraining, they were inattentive to say the least.
The Concierge were really helpful with all sorts of advice and the breakfast staff were really good.
The hotel atmosphere was like being in a medieval castle, which was interesting.
