Reviewed 27 March 2012

I spend 5 or 6 weeks a year in Lyon and tend to stay in the 5 th or 6 th because i believe it is the best location from which to enjoy LYON
Les Halles de lyon is 5 minutes away as is the Rhone, the restaurant attached "la Garage" was very good the times i ate there.

The renovation, now complete will be the model for others in the chain, I am sure

It's really a nice hotel, located within walking distance from Part-Dieu train station as well as the old Lyon town. If you need, the metro station is also just one block away.
Apparently, this hotel has been renovated. The room was big, although the bathroom was a little small. The only problem in the room was that there was no decent writing desk to put my laptop on. Concerning the wi-fi, it was indeed free with good signal and speed, you just need a little easy setting. The breakfast buffet was fine with enough choices. However, you need either hurry for some hot food or just wait.

Room Tip: Higher numbered rooms are not so close to the elevator.

I recently stayed at this hotel on business for 4 nights. The renovations are finished as far as I could see and my room was really comfortable and spotless. Large, contemporary decor and the bathroom was small but very well appointed with space for everything. The shower was amazing. Really hot water and a large overhead square shower head that was quite powerful. Breakfast was great. Location was excellent. Close to Old Lyon and what is considered downtown and close to train station and large and modern mall. Staff was really nice and helpful with directions, recommendations and at breakfast. Lyon is a beautiful city. I never expected to be that beautiful. Food was great everywhere and I ate in Old Lyon and near the hotel and all restaurants served delicious food and had great service. I would recommend this hotel.

No great shakes but really could do with updating. Good sized rooms, excellent bed and despite other comments an excellent (free) wi-fi service in the bedrooms (although for some reason a bit hit and miss in the meeting rooms). The bathroom was a disappointment and desperately needs updating with gaps / cracks on the floor, the bath and the sink areas - perfectly clean, just very dated. The shower was however hot and powerful - an important factor. Although I haven't ventured out yet I understand the hotel is well located for the town with it's countless shops / restaurants. The food at the hotel is OK but very, well French so vegetarians and those who prefer burger and chips (or indeed French Fries) watch out! There is a health club, with sauna, gym etc but I think this may be closed for refurb. There are posters around the place indicating there are works underway to refurb the rooms / health facility so I suspect the place is undergoing some of these suggested improvements already. I would probably look at other hotels nearby before staying here again in the future.

Room Tip: Avoid the interconnecting rooms (I had one) and the noise from next door was a problem every now and...
