“For a first visit to Lyon - this is the hotel !!”
Reviewed 7 September 2012

Driving into Lyon on our first visit - I was amazed how easily we found the hotel, the location is fantastic ...just 100m from the Rhone river and in a lovely quiet part of town. It really was the perfect location for exploring the city - literally a 10-12 minute stroll across to 'old' Lyon crossing both the Rhone and Saone rivers and their wonderful bridges. The section of the city between the Rhone and Saone is where most of the shopping and dining action happens - and you can be there in 5 minutes on foot. We used the wonderful 'Velo' stations to jump on a rental bike (1.50 euro per day - bargain !) and you simply return the bike at a 'velo' parking station of your convenience - they are dotted all around the town center ! Lyon is a superb city to enjoy on a bike ..... lots of cycle lanes and very safe ! The hotel itself was flawless - a wonderful warm welcome from the staff - nothing was too much trouble ...including helping us book train tickets, making restaurant reservations and charging an i-phone (as we forgot the adapter for the plug !) The privelege room was large, bright, modern and spacious - with a huge comfortable bed ! The free wi-fi was great , but it is annoying that you have to log-in with name and e-mail address every single time ! The valet parking service was super-convenient ( a little pricey at 18euro per day) - but you simply handover your keys on check-in , and then give 5 minutes notice when you need your car and it is presented to you at the front door .... but if like us, you want to explore Lyon - take my advice and jump on a 'velo' or use the fantastic public transport (buses\metro\trams). This hotel puts you right where you want to be on a first visit to Lyon ..... and I was blown away by what a beautiful, friendly and historic place it is - if you've never been .... I highly recommend a visit.

Room Tip: Privelege room definitely worth the additional cost.

Excellent hotel, with very nice and clean rooms, with a huge flat TV. Breakfast was very good, free for children. The bar had a nice atmosphere in the evening and the swimming pool/jacuzzi (open from 9am) was perfect.

This is a well located and appointed hotel. It is close to the city's very good transportation and in easy walking distance of the Rhone river.
The restaurant in the hotel is fine: a variety of fresh foods, well prepared.
The staff in both the hotel and restaurant were great. Though they are not a conference hotel, the staff knew what conference-support facilities were likely to be helpful and invested their time in making sure their information was up to date. Would highly recommend this hotel in this beautiful city.

Wonderful hotel, very helpful staff, so clean, nicely detailed and designed room with tons of lighting options. The internet never really worked -- we just were bumped off again and again and it was so slow when we got on -- on any of our 4 devices. This was a huge pain since we do a lot of travel planning this way. The location was good, too. The only other annoyance was that the parking rate went up during our stay and they didn't honor the original rate for the stay -- this would have been a better practice. A great choice for Lyon and a quick walk to Les Halles which is a highlight!

Great hotel, very clean, quiet, friendly staff, breakfast was nice, free wi-fi and very central (15 minute walk from the main station, 5 minute walk from the river and only 10 minutes from the old town)

Lyon is a magnificent city, one tip, get the Rhone Express from the airport into the city, its really simple and takes less than 30 mins, a taxi will cost you €65 - €80

Not too far from the congress centre - and remember: in Lyon you take the fantastic city bikes and drive along the Rhone to the congress center - a marvellous ride in the sunshine to and back! For this option the hotel has an ideal location. Rooms are spacious, good bathrooms and quiet place for sleeping.
Breakfast is also Ok, so in all a very nice experience.
