The hotel is generally nice. The common areas and our room were modern design. Bathroom is small and tight but okay. The duvet and carpet in the room could have been nicer quality. The cleaner was not awesome (left used coffee cups, etc.) but the place is generally clean. We were in a non-smoking room but it seems they are one of the few hotels left in the world that still has smoking rooms, and smoke from our neighbors came out pretty strongly in our bathroom. The front desk staff was pleasant, though not extensively knowledgeable about tourist options. The neighborhood is more business zoned. It's a short walk to the other side of the river where all the action is. If we go again, we'll probably choose to be on the other side just for ease, but nothing against this hotel.

Room Tip: If you are a non-smoker, request a room that does not share walls with smoking rooms as the vents fr...

Staff rude on the whole bar 2 exceptions! I required an Iron for my uniform requested this told no irons! Ok it is part of the ibis group after all! Can I use the ironing room? No it opens at 7! I suppose being in LE Club Accor and spending lots of money on stays counts for nothing! Feeding this back to the company our previous hotel was fantastic even if slightly out of town! Avoid this is my 4th stay and it's getting worse not better!

Just returned from a very enjoyable 3 night stay at the Saxe Lafayette. The staff on the desk were very welcoming and friendly, and this continued throughout our stay. The bedroom was very spacious & quiet with a huge comfortable bed, and modern shower room. Although we didn't take breakfast there, we did enjoy a lovely evening dinner in 'le Garage' hotel restaurant. This was delicious local food & wine at a great price on the set menu. Highly recommended for a well situated hotel, we will return!

Enjoyed two nights here during my visit to Lyon months ago. A modern hotel located in the commercial area with high rise office buildings around. Within walking distance to the business district, train station and not far from the river bank.

Our room was bright and spacious with two beds ( Queen and Double.)Not much a view from the window as there was another building next to the hotel, but natural lights managed to come in through the corner.
Modestly furnished in the tone of creamy white, grey and red with good lighting. Major decor was a huge poster on the wall. Room was well equipped with coffee maker, mini bar and safe all in one place.
Washroom was in good size, modern with adjustable shower head. The black and white graphic on the glass reminded me of the black and white lion statue at the front door of the hotel entrance.

Breakfast was included in our package. It was served in the restaurant downstairs. Nothing too special but good choices of jam, sauce and cheese.

The best part of this stay was a nice walk to the river and bridges after dinner, relaxed and comfortable.

The only setback was the computer at the business centre, main floor. It was in french system and very straight in time control. It would turn off atomically before you finish reading your first email...I had trouble to read the full message from my friend who was supposed to meet me in Paris.
A young staff from the the reception desk came over and tried hard to help.
Yet the the email system was locked in a way nothing we can do. He apologized and I gave up trying again. Anyway, I appreciated his eagerness in helping.
