“not central location, but good place”
Reviewed 14 October 2009

i stayed 2 nights, Lyon was totally booked in the center (la presque ile) and i had to choose a location a little out of the common routes. the place was anyway very comfortable, people in the hotel friendly and with very good language skills. good connection with the center with the underground. something missing? no free internet, unacceptable in my opinion in a modern business hotel.

We stayed in Lyon just one night. The staff in this hotel were very helpful and secure parking good. The rooms were very comfortable - clean and modern with good bedding and standard continental breakfast buffet. It is close to the metro and just one stop from the old city and two from central Lyon. Both areas have great dining options, and we particularly enjoyed the lively Citadel area. The hotel is in a business district and appears to be a destination for tour groups, but we were not inconvenienced.

It seems years have passed since the last reform was done at this hotel. The room we had got was shabby and old, with hole on the wall and curtains as well as on the linen. The bathroom was tiny and it was disgusting to have a shower. The breakfast was very poor and the coffee was horrible. Never again!

The whole place is in need of urgent rennovation. The rooms are pretty basic, but the beds are good and comfortable. The reception staff are not exactly over friendly, but are at least fairly efficient. However, that is where it stops. In the rest of the hotel there is no service at all! A 20 minute wait at the bar to get served a drink! The guy then disappeared, and we had to ask receiption to find someone else for a second round. Other guests were as exasperated as us. This happended 2 nights in a row. The Swedish girl in the restaurant was efficient, but her fellow staff members were not, and showed little interest in doing their job or in being polite to guests The restaurant was supposed to close at 22:00, and at 21:45 we were asked if we wanted coffee or desert. we were not ready, but were told "you have to order it now as we are closing" in a very unfriendly , dictatorial manner. The breakfast buffet is very poor. I borrowed an iron and when checking out found a 50,00 € charge on my bill. I was told that as I had not brought the iron to reception they had to charge me for it! I told them it was in my room, "then you have to go and get it and bring it to us" was the nice, friendly answer. No way! Last, but not least, this hotel is too far away from the city center, is not in a particularly nice area, and has no shops, restuarants or bars nearby. Not recommendable!

I spent two nights here in March 2009. I was visiting Lyon with my parents, who also stayed here.
Location: This hotel is a bit outside central Lyon, but it is around the corner from a metro stop. It is a quick, easy ride (maybe 5 minutes) to central Lyon, in a quiet residential area. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a train. It was never a problem to go to Vieux Lyon for dinner and get back to the hotel. From the Part-Dieu train station (on the other side of town) it was about a 15 euro cab ride. I
Room: The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The bedding was especially nice and comfy. The hotel and some of the furnishings have a bit of a dated, 1980s look, but everything was in great condition and very clean.
The hotel is (non)smoking by floor, so be sure to request that a non-smoking room. (We had done so and had no issues).

Spent three nights here for rugby world cup. While I know the hotel was three stars, but it still exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and well looked after, with good aircon/ heating. Excellent buffet breakfast, and a good restaurant, ate there just the once but food was superb (hey this is Lyon they take that kind of thing seriously) and not overpriced in my experience of hotel restaurants. Staff were always friendly and helpful, not that we had any problems. Great location for exploring as it is less than 5 minutes from gorge de loup metro/bus/train terminus. There is an italian restaurant across the street, spar (think 7/11 store) nearby. The only slight downer is that it is in a business and residential district and a bit quiet at night, so if you want a drink or another restaurant there isn't much choice in the immediate vicinity.
Would definitely stay here again.
