The hotel is in an ok location, near the Gare de Lyon-Perrache. If you are looking for a value hotel for a night and catch your train from Gare de Lyon-Perrache the next day, this is the place for you.

Spend 2 nights in this BW hotel with my husband. We made reservations for a superior double room. The room itself was very good; clean and quit modern. The bathroom was rather simple in comparison with the room.
The hotel needs a complete make-over though. It is dated, it feels like you've gone back to the 50's... (pastel colours, carpet on the walls)
The staff is very friendly and is happy to help you find your way in Lyon.
Breakfast is ok, but should be better for a hotel in France. Fresh croissants for example!
If you're looking for a cheaper hotel in Lyon, this will do just fine.

This is a good hotel close to Lyon Perrache train station. Staff are helpful and friendly. The only negative in terms of its location is that there are not many restaurants around and so you have to walk through the train station to get to the other restaurants which are further away. There are no other routes to get to these restaurants - only through the train station or the tunnels. This is fine during the day but during the night there are unsavoury characters around and it doesn't feel all that safe.

As a family of 4 with 2 teenagers, we rented two rooms. Both were on the 4th floor and ours was facing the back of the hotel, much quieter than our kids' facing the front. The rooms were spotlessly clean and modern, and the bathrooms were recently renovated. The location is great - there is a trolley stop half a block down that takes you into the train station about 3 blocks or so down. There you can transfer to another trolley line, the subway or a train. Just at the end of the block the hotel is on is a small grocery and in the opposite direction in the next block is a fabulous bakery. The charcuterie across the street is wonderful, too. The hotel staff was extremely polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. They tolerated our weak french and they spoke wonderful english. Free newspapers at the front desk. The hotel has a very small parking lot and parking wasn't a problem for us because it was low season. I would definitely check into parking arrangements if coming at high season. The hotel breakfast is a lovely cold buffet in a beautiful room, but typically overpriced. Convenient, though. The hotel has two computers with a printer for which you can purchase internet access cards in either 30 or 60 minute increments. Another great convenience. We would be happy to stay here again.

  • Liked — Great value for the money
  • Disliked — nothing -- it really was a great place

My wife and I stayed 2 nights in early October. We were in a nice sized room on an upper floor which was neat and clean. The bathroom was quite good (excellent heated towel rails which we used to dry some underwear overnight) and the hotel facilities all OK.

One interesting point was that the room was quite warm and we tried to turn the temp down to make things more comfortable. We were told by the desk that the temp could not be adjusted, that the air con had been turned off for the winter (so there was no option to introduce some cooler air) and if we wanted to cool the room down we should open the window - which we did. It all seemed a little strange - but nevertheless a good hotel in a good location for a short stay.
