Whilst not a meal per say the platters of chacuterie and cheese were just perfect. We ate there twice because it was so relaxed and friendly. The owners were helpful and their selection of wines was superb. It gave us a great overview of French cheeses. Would not hesitate to recommend it.

A warm, friendly young man with excellent English greeted us at the door. We all know that French cheese is just so delicious and we left him to decide what would go on our platter...we weren't disappointed. The wine he suggested was also beautiful and well priced. We were tired after a day of travelling so it was so nice to just stroll around the corner from our hotel (the Sofitel) and find this great little place with a laid back feel. Good music playing, attentive staff...we hope to return again on another trip to Lyon.

Thankfully we stumbled across this über-cute restaurant, previously seen in our Lyon guide!
We didn't reserved a table so we've been lucky to find a place to sit on a saturday night since many couples and group had to leave because there were no tables left: this is a small place but the main reason it was full it's because of the quality you can find here!
On the walls you'll find a wide selection of french wine (you can choose between glass or bottle), cheese and salami but we decide to ask for advice: the owner was very kind and helpful. The other owner is the chef; we could see him at work because we were seated next to counter and he was very calm -and organized!- even though he had to do all the preparation by himself!
We decided then to go for a mix of cheese (3) and salami (2) served with lettuce presented in a cute airtight-glass container, with a glass of red wine from the french region of Languedoc: both main-course and wine didn't disappoint, actually we were delighted by the matching between cheese and vegetables, hazelnuts, dried apricots and jams; everything was well balanced: too bad I can't remember all the names!!! (bread was included).
To spoil ourselves, if it's possible!, a little bit more we ordered "café gourmand": espresso served with four little desserts, that is to say mini-cheesecake, crème brûlée, mini-warm chocolate pudding and a spoon of strawberry sorbet.
We can't praise more this little place and its two young owners: we are so happy we had the chance to meet them.
In my opinion this is the "it" place for all the food lovers, especially for the ones who like to treat themselves with wine and cheese. Prices are right and the service is very good.
I warmly recommend this place.

A super little bistro just off Rue Victor Hugo and close to Ampère metro station. It's very popular (closed Sunday evening and Monday) so get there early or late. The place is quite small and usually full.

The offering is basically cheese (a fantastic selection of around 30 French cheeses), charcuterie and an excellent selection of wine by the glass with a bigger selection of bottles. The proprietor is very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgable. Reasonable prices - a selection of cheese with trimmings for around €10, and a good range of salads and tartines for bigger hungers. Nice desserts too. Wine around €4 - 5 per glass.

Well worth the visit for an informal evening out.

A couple of lyonnaise friends took me to this very cozy and bohemian restaurant where you can sample many different varieties of cheese and charcuterie. It's a really good place to have a light lunch or dinner and to sample different kinds of cheeses with some good french wine. The owners are very courteous and would gladly make suggestions if you have no idea or indecisive when it comes to which cheese to try. Keep in mind that they do not accept any reservations in advance. Overall, it's a really good choice for couples or small group of friends.
