We were delighted with our decision to stay at La Chambre d'Hugo. It is located right one of the main shopping streets in Lyon. Christine and Christophe were charming hosts. Christine made dinner reservations for us at two fantastic restaurants. The room is spacious and elegant and breakfast was superb. As we were driving, parking was an important factor for us. Christophe met us at their secure parking garage one street away and walked with us to the B&B. We look forward to staying there again on our next trip to Lyon

My wife and I stayed at La Chambre D'Hugo for 3 nights in early November on a trip to mark our 20th wedding anniversary and couldn't have chosen better! The warmth of the welcome from Christine Branche & her husband Christophe is genuine and warm and they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful to us for example with recommendations for local restaurants (including making the actual reservation for us by phone!) and shops plus general tourist advice on where to go in Lyon with complimentary maps etc.
The location in Rue Victor Hugo is excellent as you are on the peninsular close to the shops and sights and everything is within a short walk or Metro journey such as the Old Town over the river, and the Croix Rousse district.
We took the Rhone Express in from the Airport which is quick & clean and it's then a simple change over to Metro Line "A" which stops in closeby Place Bellecour a few minutes walk from the apartment.
The breakfasts were stunning and everything is quality and where possible home made such as the lovely jams.
The apartment is tastefully and stylishly furnished and it really is like a home from home and we felt as if we were staying with friends!
Unlike somebody else's comment that I read, I had no problems at all with the WiFi connection.
The only problem is that we simply didn't want to leave - so will just have to return ASAP!

We were delighted with our stay at La Chambre d'Hugo. An excellent location for visiting the city on foot; an elegant room with both comfort and style; bathroom with all amenities; charming and discreet hosts who will nevertheless make you feel 'at home'; a truly delicious breakfast in a peaceful ambience to start our day. What could be better? We arrived on a wet and miserable day weather-wise and, once settled, we were offered a welcoming tea in the quiet 'salon', as we were also the following day. Mme. Branche also gave us excellent tips on where to go and what to see during our short stay. We would not hesitate one minute to return to this ideal guest apartment.
A word of caution however: the entrance to the garage is very narrow and wider cars need to take extra care.

we stayed two nights at La Chambre d'Hugo and were warmly welcomed and served with supberb cooking at breakfast time, the room is well furnished and very comfortable. I was dissapointed that the wi fi was too weak to use and was surprised that the room wasn't serviced when we returned at the end of the day but appart from that i would not hesitate to recommend this home stay located perfectly in the heart of Lyon.

Sign up to the Lyon greeters program well worth while.

Cher Monsieur,

Even after reading other positive reviews before choosing La Chambre d'Hugo, my four day stay far exceeded my expectations. A superb location in the centre of a pedestrian street means that you can walk to most sites. Christine and her husband give a warm and charming welcome, and I felt spoilt by exquisite breakfasts perfectly designed to my taste, attention to my needs at all times, the care Christine gave to my wishes, and her foresight and anticipation of them. I so much enjoyed our daily chats in French that my days of exploration of Lyon became a highlight of a much longer trip. The room is elegant and tranquil, as is the apartment, with thoughtful touches such as French books by the bed, and it was a place of welcome calm after a hot day's sightseeing. Concern over where I would eat led to successful recommendations of memorable restaurants. I would so much like to visit again and my thoughts return often to Christine and that special place.

Room Tip: There is only one! Room faces pedestrian street.

It is hard to improve on some of the many reviews. My wife and I spent three nights with Anne and her husband. They are charming hosts really made us feel at home. This is listed as a B & B but it really a delightful home stay. If you are planning to be in Lyon this is an ideal spot. Anne prepares a wonderful breakfast at your own time table.

We had a wonderful experience when we stayed at La Chambre d'Hugo. Our hosts, Christine & Cristolfe, offered us a very warm welcome when we arrived tired from our journey. The room is beautifully furnished and "Le petit dejeuner" was superb. They furnished us with maps of the city, places to eat and sights to see, we could not have asked for more. We would have no hesitation in recommending this location to future visitors to this beautiful city.
