Last minute booking - 69 Euro including breakfast - 2 persons. Not much but well worth the money. Friendly reception - attentive - as the requested room with twin beds was unavailable a larger family room was given. Room 608 - quiet and reasonably spacious. The floor was not too clean but otherwise all was fine. Good sound proofing, good beds, large shower, airco, free wifi, good breakfast. Lots of families use this hotel during the weekends, so be prepared for a noisy breakfast area. Parking is 2 Euro per hour - rather expensive as an overnight stay would add easily 22 Euros, but if you validate the parking ticket at check out from the hotel, they give a 50 % reduction. So 11 Euro's which is good value for safe, underground parking. The area where the hotel is located is not inviting in the evening - the trainstation with the homeless and lack of lighting make for an unsafe feeling. Walk to the center of Lyon takes 20-30 mins. We can recommend for an overnight stay on you way to/from the South.

Very accessible and close to the Rhone Express from Lyon airport. The Part Dieu station, terminus of this quick 30 minute transit. The hotel is a economical clean Euro hotel. A no frills but quite adequate room, with all you will need for a few days stay. Impeccably clean. Very helpful staff, small cafe, but very close to many shops and of course the huge Gare-Part Dieu shopping mall.

Room Tip: Double window construction shuts out any rail noise,

We stayed at the Ibis Styles in Lyon for one night - a Saturday.

This was our second stay at this hotel - the first one being two years ago. We had originally booked another hotel in Lyon for this stay - but decided to cancel it and book the Ibis Styles as we knew what to expect and it is so close to the railway station.

The hotel is adjacent to Lyon Part Dieu railway station and is opposite the tram stop for the service to Lyon St Exupery Airport. It's also well connected to bus and tram lines around Lyon.

The last time we stayed we overlooked the road and this time was overlooking the railway station. Our stay was quiet with excellent double glazing which meant we never heard any outside noise.

The member of staff at check-in spoke good English.

Rooms don't have any tea/coffee making facilities but there is an area on the ground floor near reception where you can get a cup free of charge.

Wifi is available free or charge and there is also a computer where you can access the internet near to reception.

Breakfast is complementary to all guests. No hot food (there is a toaster for bread) and it is served 7am to 11am. Otherwise the usual continental offerings of cheese, ham, croissants, cereals, yoghurts and fruits.

The Ibis Styles is part of a chain- a 5* "Excellent" review is not normally something I would consider for these. However, whilst staying there I looked around for something to complain about and........couldn't !

From the moment you walk in the staff is friendly and ready to help you. The room was very clean and modern. Even though it is next to a buys street and train station you couldn't hear anything. The windows blocked all the noised! The heater and air condition worked great. The bathroom was clean and best of all the shower is big and the head is up high to accommodate people who are tall. There was a lot to choose from at breakfast and very tasty. Hotel is only 10 min from the metro and just near the tram. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is so close to railway station but you dont hear it. We were on the 9th floor and wifi
was good. Breakfast was excellent, set you up for the day. Staff were very friendly, room serviced everyday. Bathroom could have had a little more attention but maybe thats us.
