I loved this hotel. It was quite hard to find by car the first time, and it is not in the heart of the city, but, who cares! Hotel is by the Saone river, with a nice view of it from my room. Room was large and well equiped, with a bathrobe very useful in the magnificient outdoors spa. Hotelis nicknamed "Lyon plage", Lyon beach, and atmosphere was to confirm this nickname.

I was in Lyon for a trade fair, not a pleasure trip at all, but hotel allows to relax after a hard business day.

Wifi was ok and allowed some skype videoconference to see family at home. Restaurant offered good food and, with a car, city center was ten minutes far. Parking was free inside hotel premises or in a close open lot. A underground paid parking could be hired at reception desk.

The pictures on the website looked really well and it gave the hotel a nice feel. When getting there, it was disappointing as the rooms, which have been done up in the last couple of years, look old fashionned and the air conditionning, which is central, made the rooms pretty cold. The staff at reception were nice as well as the main barman, but the service at breakfast was lacking at the week-end, staff not happy, only few clean tables outside, little refills of the breakfast table, so had to wait to get enough!
Overall there were a handful of nice staff there.
This hotel is ok, but not a 4 star quality and the information given on the site is misleading. It looked like a great getaway for the week-end, but not worth it really, as it is very far from the town, altough the brochure says minutes walk to the centre, it took 10 minutes by car, so we had to use taxis all the time.
The restaurant had a limited menu which doesn't change, so eating out is a must unless you stay one night.
One night the bar was closed because the barman was sick, not great! Also in the evening, only 2 staff on, so you see the barman running to reception if someone comes.
The first night, they had given us the wrong room without the correct beds and when leaving they overcharged me twice for a few nights, so I had to wait 40 minutes at reception while the manager tried to sort it out!
When asking about Wifi access, they said it worked at the reception and bar area only, so I tried to connect, but they forgot to mention it wasn't free, at €5 per 30 minutes!
After speaking to some of the staff, they admitted that the hotel is really known because of the spa area, which by the way is nice but not amazing! If this is the largest spa in France, well the French should go abroad and see what a real spa looks like!
The room was very clean and it seemed that the room cleaner was the only person paying attention to detail in this hotel!
I would not stay there again, because of location and comfort, but mostly because it was a 3 star level and you get nice 3 star hotels in the centre of Lyon!

Stayed here for 1 night at the end of a 3 day business trip through Europe. Based on pictures had expected a bit more than what I got. Room nice and big, but quite seventies themed... Although the carpet, bedlinnen etc has been modernised, rooms and especially bathrooms have a strong 70s feel. Was disappointed with the fact that my room overlooked a busy road (and therefore had noise). When I asked for a quieter room I was told that the hotel was fully booked so that there was nothing else that could be done.
The room had no hairdryer (although provided by reception on request). The room had a minibar, but as I discovered after getting ready for bed this was locked. When I called reception again to ask how to get into the minibar I was told that they were not stocked and guests were asked to use vending machines in the hall (which is a bit of a pain if you are already ready for bed and/or have no euro coins to hand).
Breakfast buffet was excellent and restaurant staff very helpful and friendly. Pool looked nice (did not have the time to explore all these facilities). Location bit out of town, so would only consider staying here if you are very interested in the pool/spa treatments. If not, I am sure that there are better and nicer hotels with charm to be found in Lyon.

We stayed here for a week and a half in June 2005. The outdoor pool is indeed excellent, as is the exercise equipment, saunas, etc. However, 2 things ruined it. First, we ordered room service, the pasta of the day, and were brought nothing but noodles with butter, salt, and pepper. It cost 20 euros, or more than 23 dollars. When we complained they brought us sauce for the pasta. This left me feeling ripped off.

The 2nd thing that happened is that their lovely pool, etc. all closes at 9pm. We got stuck in traffic with my little brothers-in-law and arrived at 8:20, thinking we could all swim for 40 minutes... but they had already closed everything down because, I quote, "we [the people who work in the hotel] are tired". Interesting, since in the U.S. we worked 70 hrs a week to go on vacation & pay to stay there. So we were ALL tired, what a shame. Also they wanted us to pay 60 euros per guest and were really not nice about shutting everything down & kicking us all out, even though it was all before 9.

So you pay through the nose for all their amenities, perhaps because they are so difficult to find in one hotel. Next time I will try to find a hotel that is cheaper and more welcoming, and near a spa or gym. The staff knocking off early without apology is more a generalized problem one faces traveling in France, but overall this hotel certainly embodied that spirit - the opposite of hospitality - to its maximum. I called the management to tell them what happened and they said they would send me a letter of apology. It hasn't come, but even if it does we would never ever stay here again.

This hotel is a great "getaway" hotel at the edge of Lyon. It has the best health club I have seen in Europe: indoor 25m pool, workout gym, first-class spa, tennis and squash courts, outdoor 50m pool with heated whirpool maze. The service and food are excellent (although breakfast buffet is a bit pricy et 23E). Rooms are large, though a little dated. My only caveat is that the hotel is somewhat distant from the city center, which is difficult to reach if you don't have a car.
