“Quiet, modern hotel, excellent location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2012

The idea of a hotel right next to the main train station scared me since I have troubles sleeping in a noisy room. Luckily this hotel is brand new and has invested in soundproofing. The rooms are whisper quiet, big and luxurious. Breakfast was a bit disappointing though for a hotel in this price range, as was the lack of fast wi-fi. Only a limited time of slow internet is included in the price, totally unacceptable for a top class hotel, given the fact that even the cheapest B&B offers a fast wi-fi connection for free. Having said this, I would certainly return next time I stay in Lyon for business. Private travellers might find this hotel a bit expensive and can probably obtain better value for money in other town districts.

We had tossed up whether we stay in the old town in Lyon, or out here near the railway station, and we are SO happy we stayed here. We had arrived from Paris by train, and the hotel is right next to the railway station (though you don't hear any noise) meaning we didn't have to lug our suitcases far. The next day we hired a car from the railway station, again, right next door. And the tram to the airport when we left - leaves from opposite the hotel! So easy! To get into the old town and the Lyon centre you can just catch a metro/tram from the other side of Part Dieu station, which takes you right into town. It was perfect so we didn't have to carry our suitcases everywhere, but still easy to get around.

The hotel is new, with massive rooms, great bathrooms, a huge, comfy bed. For hotels in Europe, this room is about 3 times bigger than normal! Staff were friendly enough. We ate in the hotel one night, which was fairly average. There isn't a lot of choice for restaurants in the immeadiate area (some around the train station, some pubs there too) so you really have to go into town to get a decent meal, but as stated above, its easy enough to do.

My wife and Instayed here for one night. After touring Provence, we arrived in the evening and flew to Rome the next morning so our stay was brief but long enough to determine without question that this hotel is a true find. Great value and wonderful, friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent as well. If you are looking for 5 star luxury this is not the place but on a 4 star level this hotel is great. I highly recommend it.

I do find the hotel pretty fine, well located, adequate level of service, very good breakfast with organic products. Still mentioned some spots on color pillows of the bed.
Wall-on washing creme (as in the toilet) in the bathroom is also a must. Room lacks slippers as in bathroom has a tile floor. No shaving mirror, suppose this should be corrected. Still pleased with stay, definitely return.

As mentioned, simple walk from train station so this hotel was perfect for our overnight stay in Lyon.
Hotel has a nice reception area and staff were helpful (although couldnt recommend any restaruants apart from fast food outlets).
The room was in very good decorative order and shower was excellent. Bed was lovely to sleep in.
Good value hotel.

If you are thinking the location is not close enough to Lyons main attractions, there is a city bike rental stand beside the hotel; we found it a great way to travel to the river (10 mins).

Adjacent to train station. A business hotel primarily but fine for a family. About a third of the cost of all the other comparable hotels we stayed in on this trip. About 10 eu cab to the old city. Apparently nearly empty on weekends. Cab stand 100 yards away in front of train station. Also very quiet and nice bar and restaurant. Very newly decorated too.

Very clean rooms, great location (next to a metro train station but still quiet), friendly reception staff who helped with restaurant reservations and all within walking distance of what was billed as one of the largest shopping malls in Europe (didn't seem like it).

It was very easy to take the bus into town and we felt quite safe walking around at night.

Some things to note: we drove over in a large MPV and it was very tricky getting that into the carpark. The GPS Also the black-out curtains in the bathroom (in our room and our friends') didn't quite cover the window, which left me wondering if the people on the train platform could see me bathing... There is some construction on the main road in front of the hotel but no complaints about that.

But one of my friends got an upgrade to a Privilege room and they had a nice Nespresso coffee machine there which we all enjoyed.
