“Expensive for what it was”
Reviewed 28 April 2013

Somewhat out of town, but centre easily accessible by bus. Beautiful room and the biggest tv I've seen in a hotel with large comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Parking discounted by staying.

Let down by failure to replace consumed items (like tissues or milk) and needing to be chased - even then offering bare minimum.. Overall feeling was that it was too expensive for what it delivered. Also hate their 'pay in advance no refund' policy.

Chose this hotel as we were arriving from Paris via TGV, touring Lyon for a few days, then renting a car. You literally exit the train station (Part Dieu) turn right and walk half a block. Virtually all of the major car rental agencies are behind the hotel. The hotel is within a 10-15 minute walk of the major shopping centre and, more importantly, Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse. A walk to the vieux Lyon can be easily done in 30-45 mins. Not that much around the hotel itself as mainly residential or business but there's a Paul's in the train station that was great for breakfast and some other eating places in/around the train station. I would recommend walking through the train station and exiting the other side when seeing Lyon on foot as that will be the quickest way.

Room Tip: I booked the hotel directly through the Mercure website and got a better rate than any of the tradit...

The service was great and the hotel was clean, spacious and comfortable. One would expect it to be noisy since it is right next door to such a bustling train station, but the windows are insulated and you hear none of the sounds. Shopping is easy with a mall next to the train station, and down the block is a variety of restaurants. From the station, you can catch trains to locations all over France, plus the tram, metro and bus lines. So convenient. This is definitely the place I plan to stay on my next trip to Lyon.

Room Tip: Don't forget the RhoneExpress will carry you to and from the airport to the hotel location (mere...

We stayed for 2 nights at the top floor of the Mercure in, I guess, their best rooms and the experience was wonderful. The room is spacious very well furnished and the bathroom is awesome. You can take a bath while enjoying views of Lyon. We will be back !

(The only problem was to find the entrance of the underground parking. Not a small feat when you arrive at 11:00pm. But the night receptionist waved the parking fee as a way to apologize. Nice customer-oriented touch !)

Great location 2 minutes on foot from the la part dieu train station, so if you ate coming by train, it is ideal.
Room: very large, approx 20m, separate toilets and large bathroom, with Italian shower style, all amenities, large led tv screen (116cm), very comfortable large bed, smooth carpet everywhere, totally isolated from noise, free wifi, small fridge with free bottle of water, tea, coffee...

Very bright and clean!!
Breakfast: bio area, all French pastries, fresh bred, cereals, eggs, fruit and fruit salads, a lot of attention to detail and excellent service.

Diner: tasty choice even if not a lot of choice, but a great alternative if you are tired to go out to eat in a Bouchon.

Reception very helpful.

They keep your luggage after check out.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel was modern, clean, comfortable and friendly. Staff were very helpful and efficient. A convenient transfer to the Exupery airpot is located steps from the front door. The fare for the tram is 13.50 euros and it speeds you to the airport in 1/2 hour vs. about 60 euros by cab. You can walk to many restaurants in the area. Absolutely no noise in the rooms even though the train station is next door because there a two sets of double glazed windows. Breakfast is available for 13.50 euros, but we opted for lighter fare that is available in the nearby shopping mall with plenty of choices and in walking distance. Free WIFI, nice sized TV, coffee/tea maker. Would chose this hotel again while in Lyon.

This hotel is not in the center of Lyon, but has access to every mode of transportation available. Especially useful, across the street from Rhonexpress which takes you directly to the airport for 15 euro. There is much shopping and restaurants in the area and a mall right behind the hotel. the room was large with a separate toilet in another room, t.v., mini fridge and an included buffet breakfast. a smoking room available.

Room Tip: 104 smoking room. Rooms have double paned windows so no noise.
