our experience was really nice. when we first checked in we were told that we could only have three people in the room, but our arrangements when booking had allowed us to have two adults and two toddlers. within a minute or so, we were told that they could accommodate us this time but to know that in the future we would have to book two separate rooms. We had no other problems whatsover and enjoyed our stay.

Just across the street from the hotel is the express to the airport and to the left of the hotel is the bus station, the metro and a mall. make sure to use only coins when purchasing metro passes because it does not accept foreigner credit cards nor paper money.

we drove around the city as we have two children and the metro we thought would be to chaotic with two children and a double-stroller.

the parking structure is to the right of the hotel and they validate and offer 50% off at the front desk.

the hallways smelled like cigarettes... but you are in france... so that's a given...

Room Tip: we were provided with a baby cot for our 1 1/2 year old child as well as the couch that turned into...

The hotel is located near the train station which is convenient for traveling, although not the most exciting part of the city. The hotel has huge rooms and a beautiful bathroom. The lobby has a funny odor, but overall the hotel is very nice. Wifi is free and easy to use.

The Mercure Lyon La Part Dieu is a high quality hotel decorated with contemporary design and materials tastefully coordinated. The lobby, the hallways, and the rooms are very attractive and warmly welcoming. The rooms are thoughtfully planned with a separate toilet to the large screen TV.
All staff were courteous and efficient. Check-in and check-out were a minute or two each.
17.50 euro each for breakfast we considered excessive for the small breakfast both my wife and I characteristically eat, so we had a simple yogurt-croisant-cappuccino breakfast just outside the train station, about 3 minutes away.
We would definitely stay here again if we are visiting Lyon. (By the way, it is easy to get to old town by subway in about 10 minutes.)

We booked a room for an average rate of Eur 123 (taxes and breakfast included), and we considered it was worth the money. Great place to stay.

Pros:
- new and modern hotel
- great breakfast
- breakfast room staff very atencious
- huge room
- conveniently located, just beside train and metro station

Con:
- while having a shower, it was impossible to avoid water splashing almost all over the bathroom, as the shower box was only partially isolated by a glass wall. Therefore, although nicely decorated in modern style, the bathroom was not practical once we had to spread towels on the floor to clean it after each shower.

Notwithstanding the problem with bathroom shower box design, I recomend this hotel and would stay there again if I came back to Lyon.

My partner and i had flown over to Lyon for one night to see a rock concert.
I found this hotel on Trip Advisor and it sounded perfect for what we wanted.
We got the tram from the airport to the town and just across for the platform was our hotel, excellent.
We checked in straight away which was very easy and made our way to our room.
Our room was a great size with a king sized bed, lovely and modern with a great bathroom. Perfect!
The tea and coffee in the room was terrible. I took one sip and the horrid taste of the tea put me off.
We got back to the hotel late and wanted some food. We couldn't find anywhere near the hotel so ordered some room service.
The price of the room service plus the tax on top was not worth it. We ordered a meat platter which came with bread and it was the most expensive meat platter we have ever had!
Far too expensive.
The next morning we both had showers in the lovely big shower. When i was in the shower the cleaner tried to come in our hotel room while my other half was getting dressed! We did have the do not disturb sign on the door so were rather annoyed that this had even happened!
We checked out easily and they held our bags for us while we explored Lyon.
Overall the customer service was great and the room was fantastic.
BUT it is not worth the money we paid for it for a Wednesday night!!!!!
Mecure is NOT Hilton and shouldn't be charging the prices of a Hilton Hotel.

We stayed at the Mercure Lyon La Part Dieu and found the Staff very friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was very clean and spacious, we were at back of hotel on the railway side but the double glazing of the windows kept out all the noise and we had no trouble sleeping.
Breakfast was more than ample and staff were very attentive to our requests. Would recommend if requiring a hotel near Lyon Railway Station it is just next door, shops were on other side of station and trams were on both sides. All in all a pleasant experience.
