Good value hotel in great location on the Victor Hugo pedestrian mall. Close to the metro and within walking distance to all the Lyon sites. Our room was huge, also had a separate toilet, and good size bathroom with two basins. The buffet breakfast was ordinary and the staff were slow to replace the hot eggs and bacon. The free internet in the lobby was a great bonus. The old part of Lyon, across the river, was full of restaurants. A short furnicular ride takes you to the Roman ruins at Fouviere which was really interesting and the interior of the Basilica, Notre Dame de Fouviere was one of the most beautiful we have seen.

This hotel is good value and has a great location. It is nothing fancy but very clean, comfortable rooms for a couple of nights and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I had fond memories of staying in this hotel in 2002, I vaguely recalled the name and the location and track it down for a second longer 8 day visit to Lyon. The hotel was perhaps not as great as I remember it but it is good enough. Very well located, the b'fast buffet is a good, close to metro and main station. The rooms are of course smallish, as is the style in France, but the hotel is a classic 18th building with internal courtyard and high ceilings and a nice outlook. rue Victor Hugo can be a bit noisy with young revelers on the weekend but that in some sense adds to the charm.

We stayed here for 3 nights and we had absolutely no complaints. The room was not very large but the bathroom was modern and clean and the place was meticulously managed. The free internet was great and saved us much money as we use Skype for long distance calls. Breakfast was decent. and the location right in the center of the town and walking distance to the superb 13th century "Vieux Lyon" and to excellent restaurants. In sum, nice, clean, convenient and great value for the money.

We (3 females in our late 20s) stayed here for 3 nights. You don't expect much when a hotel is 2 stars, but this was great! The triple room was really big, had a separate toilet to bathroom (very handy!) and was clean. Little bit noisy on the Sat night, but easily forgiven for the fantastic location! Such an easy place to stay - right in the middle of Lyon! Easy walking to absolutely everything you want to see, 5 mins from the tourist info office and on a main street so felt really safe a night. Highly recommend.
