“New hotel - very comfy!”
Reviewed 6 September 2012

This new hotel was easy to find and the underground car park with private direct access to hotel and reception was very good. Straight up on the lift to be greeting by smiling pleasant staff. We had booked a double room with sofa. When we arrived in room it was made up of double kingsize bed with the sofa made up as a bed for a child. My husband went back to reception and within minutes someone came and changed it back to a sofa. So 10 out of 10 for helpful staff.
Yes, there was no alchohol in the fridge, but since we were on a tour of France we had just left Champage area, so put our own champagne in the fridge to enjoy later.
The terrace was great to enjoy an evening drink on returning to hotel after a meal out in town.
Trams at the end of road, great to get into town. We sat down by the river for pre-meal drink it was beautiful plus 90degrees in the sunshine.
This was a welcome one night stop on our way down to Narbonne on the Med.

Poor entrance from the parking
only one person at the desk but staff is kind and devoted
no bar (or alcool at the minibar) after 12PM
only one lift in service
general feeling is 'economy'
not recommended

The room is nicely designed and very well-conceived. In addition bedding is excellent! The bar/restaurant where you can also have breakfast has a great terrace overlooking the Saone which is very pleasant. This hotel is very convenient for business trip or a short stay. In addition it’s a very good value for money.

We stayed at this hotel for one night as we were moving to Lyon - our furniture was to arrive the next day. We are a family of 4 my wife and 2 boys aged 10 and 12. They gave us a large room with an interesting trundle bed for the boys. The beds were made up and ready to use when we arrived which was really great! We had a decent view of the river (the Soane?). There is a big newer shopping mall attached and we just went there to get some food, it was fine and easy. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent with a wide selection and very good coffee. We did have a little trouble finding the Novotel parking - although finding the Parking Gargage itself was easy. There is only a small space for hotel parking and it was a little confusing to us.

Room Tip: Depends on what you want i would ask for a nice river view...

Excellent hotel.
The hotel is brand new and everything about the hotel is great... rooms, beds, bar....good value at this time... much better than other hotels.
Location is superb for shopping, brand new mall with restaurants and lots of shops, or a weekend stay...travel into the city is easy...late night take a taxi home!!!
Reception good but poor information.. eg No eating places open after 1030pm in Lyon city...wrong.

We stayed for a week in two connecting river view rooms. We were on our way out of Lyon after living in the city for two years. We chose the new Novotel because of the central location atop a new mall, and because we were staying during August when many local businesses in other neighbourhoods are closed for vacation. On the plus side, the rooms were brand new and clean. Unfortunately someone stole 180€ in cash from my 10 year-old's suitcase (he was saving up allowance and birthday money) and the response from the hotel was very poor. After being passed between three staff members, all of whom were supremely uninterested, the manager told us we could go to the police station to file a report if we wished but because the cleaning staff was "another company", there was nothing they could do to warn other guests or prevent other thefts. A very poor response, we thought, and one that coloured our opinion of Novotel.

We stayed at this hotel few weeks after its opening. The property is furnished with very nice and trendy décor as well as up-to-date facilities in the rooms. Something has to be done because it is difficult to understand how to check-in because the hotel is part of a huge shopping mall building and its front desk is on the second floor. While located inside a new development a bit far from the business and historic areas, the tram, connecting with Lyon’s metro system, stops only one block away. We notice some improvement areas like the air conditioning not working correctly and service details of the staff clearly still in training. Anyway, assuming that the Novotel service standard is reached soon and an attractive rate is offered, this property should be considered as an excellent choice for visiting this city.
