The hotel's location is within easy walking distance of Gare Perrache, Lyon Metro and tram stop. The walk to Vieux Lyon is about 25 minutes, but using the metro would reduce that considerably. The same for Croix Rousse, Place Bellecour and Place des Terreaux. Across the road is Brasserie Georges, a local institution and worth at least one visit. There are also many restaurants within walking distance.
I had a larger double room which was more than sufficient for my needs. The modular bathroom was small but served its purpose. There was no A/C but fans are apparently available from reception. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful.

The room is small, clean and pleasant, however my room faced the middle of the building in which you can hear the surrounding people thru out the night, so noise was a bit of an issue for the night stay, however it was not overwhelming for me as I can sleep thru it, but may be an issue for a light sleeper if facing the inside of the building...

Otherwise, the stay it's quite pleasant and doable, and small rooms are pretty much a standard in Europe. However note that there is NO A/C in the room in summer time which can be hot and humid.

I usually don't stay in hotel rooms all day on travels because it wouldn't make sense to be on vacation and stay in Hotel room, so my experience is limited to sleeping, showering and go out the next day. Clean and comfortable room and the reception was pretty nice overall.

This is a very good 2* hotel with a warmful welcome. People are very nice and are able to explain which parts of the city have to be seen. Rooms are originally decorated, but the bathroom is a bit too small. The breakfast is too expensive compared to its quality

I arrived quite late at 23.15 hours but received a warm welcome and my check-in was smooth and efficient. It was a warm evening, perhaps around 25C, and the room was similarly on the warm side (there is no air-conditioning). My room was situated at the front of the hotel and I did notice some traffic noise which I identified as eminating from the A6 autoroute which passes close by. This would only affect a person who's quite sensitive to noise. A room at the rear of the hotel would probably not be affected at all. Facilites in the room were verg good and I slept OK and was early to breakfast the following morning. It's a small breakfast room but the breakfast was OK and the service excellent. The hotel was certainly value for money and I can commend it to any prospective guest.

Room Tip: Room at the rear of hotel to avoid the autoroute.

A friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute, the staff were some of the friendliest we have had so far they were always so helpful with any questions. Although the bathroom is small it did not ruin our stay here as the beds more than make up for it. As someone else said you do unfortunately have to go through the tram station where all the homeless sleep and it is a saddening sight the hotel is still very well located to see all the sights. I would definite stay here again and the breakfast was more than enough.

We have stayed before at the Ibis Perrache around the corner but it was booked out so we checked into the Victoria based upon reviews here.

The checkin was smooth and the lady apologised that it was the last and the smallest room and that they would attempt to find us a bigger one as we were staying 5 nights.

Well the room is the usual size for a 2 star, very quiet, up on the 5th floor with a very comfy Queen size bed that is quite high off the floor.
There is a dressing table come desk, side tables and flat screen Tv and very fast Wifi. It has two windows that open onto the building opposite, but the only downside is the bathroom which, though squeaky clean and modern is one of those all in one modules so not the best, even though it has a large well lit mirror and great hot water.

We are still awaiting the upgrade, but we are quite happy with the room now and for the price it can't be beaten.
The breakfast area is being remodelled so I cannot comment on the breakfast.

One thing that people who stay at Perrache should know, is that you must use the tramway station to get to the other side of the roadway which runs beside the rail lines to get into the main areas. Also the council seems to set aside part of this area in the station for families of homeless to sleep at night, but our safety has not been affected by this, but it is sad to see; especially the little kids.

And when you are here eat at least one dinner at George's around the corner, you won't forget the experience.

I stayed here a few months ago to spare night in between the scheduled flights. The place is awesome and I had everything which I needed for my stay. Rooms are lovely, very well-appointed with all luxurious amenities. Wash room was big and looked fresh. Staff was very attentive and on the toes all the times. They never refused me for any services. Breakfast was the only meal I tried there and it was great. Highly recommended.
