Not one to spend time to write reviews unless I excessively enjoyed a place or, in this case I did not / got sick.

I have lived in Lyon plage, right next to Hotel Lyon Metropole for 25 years and therefore I have seen / experienced the highs and lows of the hotel, sports club and restaurant, but this is the first time I and my guest got sick following a visit!

My friend and I both got steaks tartare and both got sick - him in the evening following the lunch and I this morning (luckily for me as I was flying home yesterday...). What is disappointing is that the steak is overpriced at 22€ or at least 4 to 5€ above what you would find in the city centre and that would not five you Delhi belly. What is even more annoying is that I did hear some poor feedback from friends and I guess we should have listen to it.

I invite the staff for a response as I feel it is fair but you must mend your ways if you want to pretend you are a restaurant to a 4* hotel!
If I was still in Lyon, I would actually have asked for a refund or for you to invite us both to make it up but this is not the case so I hope to receive a response from you.

Dear Guest,

I would like one more time to apologize for the sad experience you encountered in our restaurant. As explained during our phone conversation, rest assure that all food safety is strictly followed in our restaurant.
It is always sad for us to read that one bad experience can have us rated 1/5 when we know that you had so many great moments in our hotel/restaurant and will sure live a lot more.
We hope to have you back for a future opportunity and get back our 5 stars!

Best Regards,
Leslie Moreau - Hotel Manager

So sad to write this review as we were staying in the metropole hotel which is fantastic!
The worst fattiest steak I have ever eaten! Was charged 60 eur. Complained and no one came back to discuss
Pasta over cooked!
Ravioli pasta- was tasty, but clearly was just heated in the microwave . Charging 16 eur for this is extortionate.
The only thing nice about the restaurant was the free bread!
Side dishes were cold- the side dish of risotto was ok.
Our waitress was lovely and very accommodating for our 3 year old daughter.
As we were staying in the hotel we thought we would give them another chance and eat lunch by the pool. The club sandwich was possibly the worst club sandwich I have ever eaten! It tasted like it was batch made the day before!
The burger was cold and sad!
Stay away people! So many better places to eat in Lyon!
Sorry Lyon plage! Your staff were very nice though !

We had dinner here the night we arrived.
Food was okay and very pricey. My tuna steak for EUR 26 was thin, overcooked and I doubt it was todays catch. My wife had the same, hers was better.

The lobster rillette for EUR 20 was okay.
For the prices they charge I would think one can expect more.

The food in the restaurant shouldn't even be served to prisoners of war. The veal cutlets were like shoe leather. The pasta was overcooked. The mussels and shrimp must have been past the best before date. One guest could be unlucky. Five guests? Please be smarter than we were and avoid the restaurant. This restaurant really ruins Lyon's gastronomic reputation.
