We booked L'Etincelle via Trip Advisor/La Fourchette. It is a pleasant small restaurant. Our initial feel was good. The serveur was helpful. He typed in the incredibly long wifi password so that I could continue researching our drive through the Beaujolais region the next day. The entrées were generously portioned and tasty (especially the salmon). Food quality was uneven, however. Some dishes were excellent, others were good but not great. A little heavy on the garlic.
The shock came when we were finished our dessert and thinking we would enjoy a coffee before wandering off. Rather than offer coffee, the serveur plopped our bill down in front of us. There was a group waiting at the bar and it was clear that we were to leave and make room. We have been living in France for a year and we suspect our serveur mistook us for foreigners who don't know any better. (We are foreigners who do know better). In our experience, this is just not done in France! It was a rude and abrupt ending to an otherwise pleasant evening. We would not go back.
