We really enjoyed our stay in Lyon at Patrick's apartment! The apartment was very clean with lots of charm and modern amenities! Patrick was so helpful before and once we arrived recommending places to dine and things to see. It was a great location to explore Lyon and all it has to offer! Everything we wanted to see was within a half hour walk or up the funicular. Loved that we had a view of The Rose Tower, a historic sight in the medieval quater. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking to stay in Lyon.
Couldn't have had a better experience. What a special place, it was absolutely charming! Patrick was extremely helpful and accommodating.
Very unusual apartment in the centre of Vieux Lyon surrounded by excellent restaurants, bars and cafes. Comfortable, accommodation in a historic building. Patrick is a great host and went out of his way to help us with a difficult situation when we went off to Italy leaving a valuable item behind.
This was a great find in Lyon. A great break from hotels - having this lovely little apartment to ourselves. The greatest advantage was to go across the river and take in the wonderful food market, purchase supplies and have a quiet meal at home - with a great little bottle shop next door.
Very easy to organise with Patrick and Francine gave us a great run down of the apartment and nearby amenities.
This is the perfect Pied-a-terre in Lyon even with it's idiosyncrasies. The apartment is spotless, Patrick was a cheerful and genuinely charming host who will be there to get you settled.
The place is in a perfect location, near all the important historical sites, shopping, restaurants, boulangeries, market places. You name it, you can walk to it.
The apartment is tucked away in a "secret passage" that is both lovely and yet secure. There is a coded front door and serious lock on your door too, although this is a lovely and safe neighborhood in old Lyon.
The cost is much more reasonable than local hotels and it is miles more intimate and "French".
Yes, there is a long stairway to get up to the apartment. But you miss the gym anyway, don't you? Yes, the the bathroom is at the bottom of a steep circular staircase in the apartment. Yes, the lights are low voltage (bring a clip on book light). Yes, you'll have to buy some basics, coffee, TP, bottled water, but you'll get used to it all in a matter of minutes as it is so charming, and there is plenty of room to spread out.
The Shower has lots of hot water and good pressure. and everything in the kitchen works great if you feel like passing on another Michelin 3 Star place for dinner.
The whole wonderful experience was more than advertised here. This is a hidden gem. Don't tell anyone. It was the highlight of a month long trip ti France.
Go ahead, dive in. You will not find a nicer apartment anywhere in Lyon.
The place is situated in one of the most visited traboules (16 rue de boeuf) so walking in the main door is like walking in a well-known site.
The apartment itself is quite dramatic; two storey high ceilings, massive windows and an ample space to entertain which we did on a few nights. The bedroom upstairs is fine and the bathroom, while a bit cramped is satisfactory. But you don't stay here for the sleep and shower!
Aside from the spacious and gracious living room, the kitchen has all you need including great coffee to get your day going. I would return in a heartbeat. Patrick and his son were very helpful in negotiating Lyon and its sites and were responsive and attentive. Thanks for a great visit!
