We were looking for a restaurant for Monday night dinner, an evening when many restaurants are closed. Our first choice was in the middle of a rehab. We happened to walk by Leon of Lyon and remembered a good meal there in 1990. It's a large restaurant so no problem getting a reservation. Our dinner experience matched our first meal there. The service was friendly and efficient. We ate in the dining room as it was very hot outside. It was quiet, even though there was a lot of activity around us, and the decor was attractive. We had the prixe fixe menu. All of the courses were very good. Will return again soon.

It is always a challenge to try and find a restaurant that is suitable for 2 couples in a new city with no knowledge of the area, I always turn to TRIPADVISOR for guidance therefore I feel its important to share my experience and view for those coming after me
I booked this restaurant by phone the week before we traveled and it was selected by your reviews and the distance from the apartment we were staying in
From the moment I spoke to the staff until we left late that evening they could not have been more helpful and friendly to us
We were served by a young well spoken girl who was witty charming and very helpful
Each of us had a different dish and we were all very pleased
It was very busy that Friday evening mostly with local people, there was both seating inside and outside
The decor was of old style and the ladies is most unusual
We all agreed that we could highly recommend this venue for a relaxing , feeling of occasion and enjoyable evening

Had lunch on arrival last Sunday. 3 of us had the menu with. Very good beef. I had the veal piccata with lovely complimentary flavour but a wee bit tough. Followed by local cheeses. Service ok

An "institution" of a restaurant that certainly rests on its laurels. Definitely the dining low point of my week in France last month. The seasonal asparagus starter was tough and unimaginative and pretty expensive. My veal rillette was okay, but wasn't braised quite long enough (chewy) and my wife's vegetable entree plate was soggy and atrocious. The praline (local specialty) dessert plate was pretty bad. There was a really ordinary little tart thing and a squshy marshmallow block just gets stuck in your teeth. The praline stuff I had at a bakery the next day was far better. The wine list had some good options at low and high price levels. The wine cellar bathroom was definitely the highlight of the evening.

Had before dinner drinks, the in-season asparagus starter, the quenelle and wine with the main course. They have an extensive wine list of bottles and a number of reasonably priced wines by the glass. The premises are fairly large consisting of more than a few rooms yet the immaculate premises seem cozy. Service was warm yet professional. A portion of the wine cellar is on view in the basement. The profiteroles were the best I've tasted. The prices are reasonable.
On a rainy Sunday evening in Lyon we throughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service.
