It looked really quaint on the outside, so we went it. I was a bit unnerved by all the stuffed animals (all chickens) all over the place. Not what I would consider a great decor for a restaurant that only serves chicken. The menu and the waitstaff only spoke French. No problem for us, but would be a problem for other. The food was uninteresting. I had a nice chicken soup to start and then roasted chicken for the main - which was bland and nothing special. The dessert could not be compared to the average Lyon patisserie. The price was outrageous for the food that we had. I would not recommend the restaurant.

This restaurant, Le Restaurant Saint-Florent, is an homage to all things from the province of Bresse, especially its chickens. There are literally hundreds of chicken figurines, paintings, statues, puppets, etc., everywhere. Quite a sight! The food was quite good, and also, we thought, quite expensive. Their fixed menus start at €15.50, but most are in the €20 and €30 range, and that seemed high for this type of restaurant. We stayed on the inexpensive end, so can't report what the more expensive dishes were like, but our daily special of a special salad entrée and duck for the main course was excellent. Surprisingly enough, a lot of the menu items are not chicken! The restaurant is right at a Metro stop, so is easy to get to, but it is not in a part of town where you are apt to see a lot of tourists. We made reservations on a Wednesday night, but they weren't necessary because we were the only people in the restaurant until about 9pm when another couple came in.

The poulet de Bresse fixed menu is phenomenal, and the decor is wonderfully full of poulet de Bresse paraphernalia. The best meal I had in Lyon - I left lunch with thoughts of returning for dinner, but I was still too full by dinner time!
