“Don't bother”
Reviewed 8 April 2012

We found this restaurant didn't live up to it reputation being a Paul Bacose spin off from his main resturant 12km outside Lyon centre. The staff were very unfriendly almost as if we were numbers trying to push us through as quickly as possiible so they could take the table back. The food was very average and not worthy of the price the wine was good value. I would not recommend this restaurant instead definitely go to Le Musee where you get total contrast great food fantastic staff and an almost dinner part atmosphere the owner is fantastic translating the menu lots of laughs..

“Perfect Lyonnais Experience”
Reviewed 27 November 2011

A wonderful place to taste the traditional specialties of Lyon in a beautiful and impeccably kept brasserie environment. Very professional service and outstanding quality of ingredients. Great value for money, especially their 3 course menu. A snapshot of the culinary tradition of Lyon.

“Excellent service, disappointing food”
Reviewed 2 January 2011

Brasserie Le Nord (formerly known as Brasserie du Nord) is an upscale brasserie with excellent, very precise service, but the food is lacking. I was encouraged by a pretty good lunch of duck pate and roast lamb, but when my partner and I went out for dinner we were sorely disappointed. An appetizer of foie gras was served so cold that it was tasteless. A mixed appetizer of little meat and potato salads wasn’t particularly memorable. My partner had a main course of mixed fish, most of which was overcooked. I had a dish choucroute that was only distinguished by its size. The sauerkraut was unseasoned and clearly hadn’t been simmered with other ingredients to bring out its flavor. The meats were pork and various sausages, none of which were particularly flavorful. The wine list was reasonably priced and we had a good bottle of Crozes Hermitage. Breads consisted of brioche and baguette slices. We skipped dessert. Overall, not a place worthy of Paul Bocuse. We have eaten at other better brasseries in Lyon for lower prices.

“Definetely worth a try”
Reviewed 16 October 2009

Paul Bocuse is the Lyon's trademark as are his restaurant and five brasseries. This one as the name says has the strong influence of the Northern French cuisine. Those who like choukrouts and snails won't be dissappointed, they are of very good quality. The location is exellent and the service good. The prices are higher than you would expect for that kind of a restaurant, but O.K. it's Bocuse - an example of a tourist trap as it should have been.
