“Bourdain was right! Great Bouchon experience.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

Here's the 1,2,3s...

1. Very typical French Bouchon! Rice as a side dish to perfect beef medallions with morrels and a creme sauce, and I think our other dish was something from the pig/cow I wouldn't normally eat, but it was tasty and tender in it's own amazing sauce.

2. Go early, like 7:30pm, as it fills up fast, but when full, it's an interesting and amazingly choreographed place. The service is impeccable.

3. Drink the unlabeled house wine (red). It goes with everything. Appetizer was nice. Desert was average but tasty too.

“Good Food at a Reasonable Price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2014

Our hotel recommended this restaurant, and we had a very good meal at a reasonable price. At first we were put off by being ushered into an empty back room. We figured that they probably put the tourists there. We were incorrect. We just forgot that the French eat later than we do, and it quickly filled up with locals. We had good service and a nice meal in a non touristy establishment.

“Unique French Cuisine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2014

My boyfriend and I are not big eaters. We ordered 1 seafood salad and 2 mains. With the generous serving, it was enough for us. The food was unique, like first-class family recipes. Nothing pretentious. The beef with morel mushrooms and seafood salad were delicious. Pardon me for using layman terms haha, I forgot the dishes names.
Service was alright, not fantastic. But to us it was ok as we would rather have a quiet meal.
Mostly locals, which means this is not a touristy restaurant. As with all good restaurants in France, you have to make a reservation few days in advance. Try it when you are in Lyon!

“A MUST WHEN IN LYON”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2014

You have very stylish "Michelin stars" or "Gault & Millau" restaurants and you have these "real "places where the combination of superb dishes,a very pleasant but attentive service "with a smile or a joke" ,the local touch, the great atmosphere and a perfect balance between price and quality
make from this place a memorable evening...you return home or to your hotel with a really good feeling and at breakfast you are still talking about the previous night.
We enjoyed it so much that we will return soon with our friends when we go next time to Lyon.

“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2014

This place has great atmosphere and food. Most everyone was a native, which is a plus for me. Attentive service. Loved the quenelles and tarte tatin, but everything was excellent,
