Another brilliant week skiing back in January. Food, tuition, staff, accommodation and transfers were all excellent. Looking forward to coming back next season and perhaps for a short break in the summer.

Room Tip: Try to ask for a room at the back to avoid the street noise

I would like to thank Simon, Jay, Jo and the whole team in Megeve for yet another holiday of the highest possible calibre. Year on year the standards of both the Chalet d'Antoine and it's staff continue to amaze me. Your greatest attribute is your on-going ability to provide a level of service and continuity which put your business head and shoulders above anything else I have ever ever experienced in the ski chalet world. The tuition and minute attention to detail is second to none. Your business model is truly unique and on behalf of my children and myself, a massive thank-you. You do your industry proud!

We decided to book a late week in March and we were not disappointed! We had the most fantastic weather and skied all the mountains during our skiing lessons with Jay. After a hard day on the pistes, the food cooked by Toby and his team was first class. Jo the chalet manager and her chalet girls were amazing and were only too pleased to be accommodating for us and all our fellow guests. Many thanks and well done everyone, we have already booked our next trip in 2015.

The Food at dinner was superb as usual. Thank you Toby. Not often you put on weight on a skiing holiday. .The chalet staff were brilliant and, even did some washing for us. A Comfortable stay. The room was a good size for three of us and the chalet is well placed for the ski hire shop. Megeve is a very picturesque town. Simon and his team tried their best to ensure the ski tuition went ahead. A week of blue skies and great skiing.. This was our fourth visit to Megeve. We plan to return next year if finances allow. Most of the other guests were very friendly.

We arrived at this traditional chalet very near the heart of elegant Megève by car & by chance Toby the head chef opened the front door & gave us a very pleasant welcome! Little did we know he would turn out to be a superb cook! The dinners were really delicious & the table service was excellent too. There was variety, first class meat, fish, veg etc, very drinkable red & white wine, tap water but a little surprising, no sparkling - in the land of Perrier! Every evening was delightful at the dinner table. Breakfast was good but perhaps a touch limited if one was looking for a serious cooked one - there was no bacon offered for example. But the young staff were excellent.
Afternoon tea was offered every day & very welcome too after a good day's skiing.
The room we had was adequate in size & luckily my wife & I are quite slim. It would be a tight fit for the rounder guest!! It was at the front of the chalet & unfortunately there is a small night club directly opposite which is open until 3am. If you sleep with the french window open then you are disturbed. If you keep the window tightly closed you hear very little - i.e. no problem. If you can afford it the superior rooms are well worth the extra. The week we were at the chalet there was a very pleasant atmosphere, friendly & very relaxed at all times, with the staff ready to help at any moment. Simon Butler himself was around, always good to have the owner nearby.
The boot & Ski room was not as modern as some but there was space for everyone & their kit.
The chalet was always clean & tidy, well looked after, the bar area with a big screen & satellite programmes, but not constantly on or at high volume - very discreet.
To go skiing meant a 150 metre walk to the free ski bus stop or a 10 minute walk to the Gondola station "Chamois" - all very convenient.
Then there were the ski lessons! With my 2 friends we had the great privilege of skiing with Jay!
And I mean privilege - she is the best ski teacher I have ever had & bear in mind my first lessons were in 1955 in Andermatt with Karri Russi, the father of Bernard !! We just loved her as she left us in no doubt on how we performed! Passion, talent, wonderful ways of explaining every move & a marvellous, dry, withering sense of humour! She made our week, brilliant!!
My wife Daniela skied with some of the ladies & she too enjoyed her mornings, in lovely sunshine & on the beautifully groomed pistes of this elegant mountain village.

To sum up, we had a marvellous week & on top of that GREAT value for money in a village which is fairly expensive. I am sure that Simon Butler skiing will not disappoint you - go for it!

Room Tip: At the side of the chalet & if you can afford that little bit more, the Superior rooms must be w...

Our 4th trip - each one has been outstanding. Jay and Simon (and Toby the chef!) virtually guarantee a great skiing experience, despite the current shenanigans with the French ski authorities. SBS still delivers a great teaching experience at all levels and it will be even better once the UK instructor Team can get back to normal. We still felt spoil and skied too much and ate too much etc and had great company along the way. The d'Antoine is a lovely, homely chalet - right by the town, the ski hire shop and the bus stop to the slopes - perfect. We will be back!!

Skiing with SB is a great holiday in every respect ... the Chalet d'Antoine is conveniently located in Megeve, a 3 minute walk from shops and restaurants and, more importantly, about 75 yards from the ski bus stop serving an extensive skiing area. The accommodation in the Chalet is spacious, comfortable and clean with wifi in every room; the food is exceptionally good and the staff friendly and helpful. The lounge area where everyone congregates for afternoon tea after a day on the slopes buzzes with conversation and enthusiastic exchange of the high points of the day's events. It is easy to come solo or in a mixed ability group as the lessons facilitate new friendships and enable afternoon skiing with people of a similar level. A really well organised holiday. Hoping to see everyone again next year!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back as they are quieter (no road) - and/or for a room on the first floor if s...
