I’ve been going out to Megeve during the winter for 10+ years now. I was introduced to Simon Butler Skiing via Christ’s College Ski Club in Guildford (thanks James!). From the first year that I went out there, I have been totally hooked! I have returned each year for 1 week, 2 weeks and even a month! The skiing in Megeve is just truly fantastic. Perfect for beginners and also for the most experienced skier. There is plenty to do on piste and for the adventurous safely off piste.

I have always stayed with Simon Butler Skiing not always in the same chalet, their strive for customer satisfaction is fantastic and is reflected in their amazing return rate of guests each year. The ski instruction is truly 1st class, always learning new techniques year after year. Accommodation wise I particularly love the Chalet d’Antoine, for me its like home from home. From the atmosphere of the chalet rooms to the friendly chalet staff, the returning guests that stay, amazing 3 course meals and of course the bar! I cant wait to get out there again next season!! Bring on the Neige (snow)!!

I’ve just returned from staying in the Chalet d’Antoine for my first summer experience. WOW! Megeve is just one of the most picturesque places not only in the winter but also in the summer. Its amazing how different the place looks. So green and lush, flowers are everywhere. My main objective for going in the summer was to bike. A new passion of mine and I wasn’t disappointed one bit. Road cycling and downhill mountain biking both out of this world. From road climbs that are part of the Tour De France and mountain biking the slopes that you ski on in the winter just awesome. Mountain biking across Rochebrune and ending up at Cote 2000 and the Radaz restaurant was just perfect. Make sure you wear protective gear though, some of those red runs are a real challenge, I have the bruises to prove it! ;-).

My only downside, is that I only went for 4 days. Next year its going to be much longer!

I have been skiing with Simon Butler for 12 years. After my second visit as a beginner, I decided it was safe to take the kids. We all now enjoy level 6-7 skiing all day every day. Our Easter trip now comprises 3 families of adults, teenagers and pre-teens. ( Yes you can still ski at Easter! ). Top tuition has taught us to ski any terrain in any conditions. Families show up as novices and leave knowing it is safe and reliable being and skiing in Megeve with the Butler team. Their are 440 odd km of slopes from motorway greens/blues to more challenging reds/blacks. There is also shed loads of off-piste at Joly and Cote. The surprising thing is that there is very little crowding, especially when compared with other resorts.
The Chalet d'Antoine is decorated in traditional Savoyarde style. It is comfortable, cosy and charming. The staff are trained to an exceptional standard and in my experience, give the very best of themselves to the guests. The snow is accessed by either a six min walk to the Caboche lift in town or a 10 min bus ride to Arbois from outside the Chalet.
I am looking forward to next season with bookings already made for Jan and April. What better recommendation could there be.

We have ski'd with Simon Butler Skiing for many years, in fact since our son was 4 years old and he is now 21, and he is still coming with us!! and Chalet d'Antoine is definately the pinnacle of the SB empire.

It is very much in the Savoyard style, very comfortable and homely and very clean. The bedrooms are decorated to a very high standard, including tea/coffee making facilities, television, hairdryer and lots of space to put those wet ski clothes! There is a very nice lounge area with lots of comfy sofas, a lovely bar area and a superb dining room.

As soon as you walk through the door the chalet staff are very friendly and will do anything for you to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The food is definately a plus side to this holiday for foodies, as Toby the Chef and his wife Marie create some very interesting and unusual dishes (and loads of it).

The ski instruction is second to none, english speaking instructors who have the patience of jobe. They just want you to have fun as well as being safe on the slopes.

We have been on this holiday with various friends who have never skied before and who like us just fall in love with the place and can't wait for the next ski season.

The hotel is also just a few minutes walk into the centre of the very beautiful town with great bars, cafes and restaurants.

Okay, so there's only 445Km of skiable piste available with the Domaine Mont Blanc ski pass, and staying with Simon Butler Skiing, you only get 2 hours of ski instruction daily, and then you can only ski until the slopes close.

When you get back to your chalet (the Soleil d'Or or the Chalet Antoine) you only get the choice of tea, hot chocolate, fresh coffee, home made cakes and biscuits made daily and especially for the guests.

Later on in the evening, you only get a four star three course meal with complimentary wine (which appears to be bottomless) made on the premises using locally sourced produce.

After dinner has finished there is only the option of going out and enjoying the "chocolate box" surroundings within which you have found yourself (bars, restaurants, ice rinks, sports complex, casino, etc.), or of course you could stay in and prop up the bar in your preferred chalet.

If you are looking for boredom, dis-organization, in-hospitability, rubbish food, nothing for the kids to do, and a pretty rubbish holiday in general ... go somewhere else. If you are looking for the exact opposite then this is definately my number one recommendation.

.... Megève itself is a little pricey, but in comparison to other more well known skiing holiday locations it is actually quite excellent value for money. No one should try kidding you that your entire holiday will be cheap, however Simon Butler Skiing holidays are the best value for money, and the most enjoyable that our particular group have found, and we go back year in, year out.

Hopefully we will meet up with you at some point, either out on the slopes, or maybe whilst we relax in the evenings having all of our cares and concerns addressed by the superb Simon Butler Skiing chalet managers and their staff.

Six ski years in a row says it all. The Chalet d'Antoine is attractive, well positioned, with friendly staff and fabulous food. The included ski instruction each day is a real bonus. Like so many of the other guests, we have already booked for next year!
