The rooms were enormously cozy and the overall service was fabulous. The only downside was we weren't able to stay longer. It was incredibly romantic and just perfect for what we needed.

We had dinner onsite at the restaurant and the experience was amazing - enormously romantic with impeccible service - the citrus lobster appetizer was divine.

This lodge provides an alpine atmosphere reminiscent of other ski resort accommodations catering to well heeled travelers. A member of a commercial cycling tour, I enjoyed this hotel with its large rooms and standard amenities. Le Fer a Cheval is within walking distance to the town center, where, as luck would have it, we were able to enjoy Bastille Day festivities and watch the fireworks directly across from our balcony. The joint is expensive but on par with other high end hotels in the area that are rated on TripAdvisor. The food and service were acceptable. While I might stay here in winter if I ever had the chance to ski the alps, I'm not sure I'd do so if I was traveling with family or an unguided group during summer months.

Visited with a group of friends at end of March. Having stayed in many 3-4 star ski hotels from Davos- Three valleys- Whistler, this is probably the best that ive stayed in. Cuisine was outstanding at the hotel, the resort of megeve has unbelievably high standards of cuisine anyway. This hotel is not cheap its why we chose it. So if you are looking for cheap and cheerful look elsewhere. The service was excellent and the shuttle service to mont arbois lifts extremely useful and efficient.
We used the pool and spa bath everyday after a long days skiing. Highly recommended.

Firstly I should say that my wife and I really enjoyed our recent trip to this hotel and we will probably go back next year.

The Euro was against us but it was fiercely expensive. That doesn't mean it wasn't good value but it's worth knowing that a glass of wine in the bar is 12 Euros.....

The hotel itself is beautiful inside and out, and has a great old Alpine feel. The bar has a lovely atmosphere and the restaurant is the same, although the restaurant has too many tables for the space but was never full. Why not take out a few tables and have more elbow room?

Our room was at the top end of the scale as it's all they had left at short notice. It was very clean and spacious and well maintained, but for over 650 Euros a night I would have hoped for a view. The bed was extremely comfortable.

The food in the evening was nothing short of spectacular and the wine list was enormous with something for all budgets. This threw the breakfast into sharp contrast as it was miserly, with a very unimpressive buffet and the temerity to charge extra for scrambled eggs or an omelette????

The pool and spa are very impressive and clean, if slightly too busy.

I admit it might have been a language issue but the friendliness and attitude of the staff was fairly mixed with some being extremely helpful but others less so.

We liked the location of the hotel as we walked into the village every morning to the Chamois lift and left our skis at the hire shop nearby so we didn't make use of the hotel shuttle and didn't have to carry our skis at all.

We booked a suite at fer à Cheval, which looked more than a cheap rental apartment. No writing desk, no TV in the bed-room, no humidifier, curtains do not block the light - sth we should expect for euro 600,00 per night...

Service terrible, especially at breakfast - "Do it yourself" - you have to prepare your espresso yourself - staff overwhelmed, always in a bad mood...On check out, no excuse nth...Very disappointing!
