We have stayed for only 3 nights at hotel "les Grillons" during our holiday's trip to southern France, last July. We have got two adjacent rooms with the lake's view and the breathtaking panorama of the mountains across the lake. Very friendly and attentive staff. And a young and energetic "la patronne" running the business. Always helpfull, speaking excellent English far better than most of the staff members. Fortunaty I have no problems with my French...Impeccably clean rooms, altough the wardrobe and the shower in our bathroom were rather shabby and needed some small repair. What I did not like? The toilet - extremely small, with the door opening inside. An elderly or a "large size" person could have serious problems there. And while being in the toilet one could hear different noises infiltering from a room on the upper floor It has to be improved by the hotel owner. As for the food I would not say anything wrong. A great variety of what you like for a breakfast. At your choice. And to my standards, an absolutely delicious French cuisine for a dinner. More than you can eat. What else? A really large private parking in the front of the hotel building. And the parking area corresponding right with the main circular road around the lake. I could not hear any traffic noise disturbing a few other hotel guest. Summarizing: the half board you pay is worth every euro you spend.

This is a lovely family run hotel with good lake views. Staff are excellent, friendly, helpful. The food was brilliant and vegetarians catered for with no problem. A few kilometres from Annecy so recommend a car or bike, as there are no other immediate amenities apart from the hotel. Gorgeous area. Thoroughly recommend it.

a 3 star French hotel as they used to be. Clean; friendly yet personal and extremely helpful service; very good food without pretensions that so many other hotels now have - every plate was well balanced and tasty. The chef works very hard in the kitchen to make meals that please everyone on a fixed menu. The rest of the staff led by Aurelie made our 4 day stay at the end of August and beginning of September 2009 a real joy. Nothing was too much trouble. Those reviewers who criticise this hotel need to go and visit more pretentious and posy places that do not do the basics half as well. We used it as a base to tour the Alps on a motorbike. The staff catered for any extras that we required, always with a smile and enthusiasm for their job and most importantly with the personal touch making us feel that we really mattered to them.
