Review of Le Savoie
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Apr 2024via mobile
We have just returned from a fantastic week at the Hotel and Spa Le Savoie in Val D’Isere France. We cannot praise Inghams and their lovely friendly professional staff highly enough. Everybody was friendly, interested and a pleasure to deal with. The chefs are amazing; we enjoyed every dinner the quality and variety is 2nd to none. Huge applause to the kitchen staff!
The hotel itself is lovely and in a brilliant location right in the centre with a ski bus stop outside. Ski hire shop is adjacent. This is a great place for a ski/boarding holiday for everyone, couples, families, groups and we would recommend to anyone!
Well done Inghams!

Entire experience outshone expectation!
Staff outstanding. Charming - friendly & genuinely interested in everyone without being obsequious. Seldom if ever have we found every single member of staff so delightful and as if we'd known them as friends before.
We were shown to our lovely room - with a cracking bathroom including bath and shower. We were then invited to make our choice of both menu and time for dinner, before collecting our skis from the ski hire shop next door.
When we sat down to our meal we were blown away by how good it all was. Every course - FIVE of them if we wanted it - was outstanding and we should know as food is our business! We couldn't believe they could do better following night. They did!
Breakfast was delicious every morning and the biscuits and cake waiting for tea after a long day of blissful/hard skiing was absolutely the icing on the above!
We didn't go to Val for the food but it became a massive factor in our memory of the entire week.

Room tip: Make sure you book somewhere on the Wednesday for dinner as the hotel staff have a well deserved day off.

This hotel was wonderful - such lovely staff and service and really amazing food and facilities! Particularly loved the spa. Definitely the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at on a ski trip.

Would highly recommend!

Absolutely loved staying in this chalet hotel for a week with my family. The breakfast is extensive and sets you up well for a day on the mountain. Afternoon tea has selection of sweet and savoury which was a lovely surprise! Spoilt for choice from the dinner menu with plenty variety of dishes offered. Rooms very comfortable - great showers. The spa area was greatly appreciated after a busy day - pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Boot room has heated boot rack and sufficient storage and is very easily accessible from outside. What topped it all off was the staff. They couldn’t have been any more helpful and always so friendly and happy to answer any questions or just have a chat. Will hopefully be lucky enough to return again one day.

Room tip: Rooms at the back quieter at night but not as great a view. Great toiletries waiting for you in the bathrooms. Robes supplied in room.

We decided to have a treat this year skiing and stay in a hotel. We picked La Savoie because of the reviews, Unfortunately a ski accident on day 2 stopped me skiing. The staff were just unbelievable in their care. support and tried so hard to make my holiday better. They went above and beyond. Skiing is my passion so I was clearly upset and they all made it so much easier. I can't thank them enough. The hotel is gorgeous, the people and food were wonderful. It's a big thumbs up from this family.

Room tip: The front rooms have the most amazing views but are noisy with revellers if you want the windows open at night. No noise with them closed.

Wow, just wow. My partner and I went here for my 40th as a treat and that's exactly what it was. The Chalet/Hotel description is perfectly fitting for this fairly small, intimate setting in which the staff and guests alike get to know each other through their stay (only if they want of course).

The catering staff do a fantastic job presenting a interesting and generous menu on a daily basis which looked and tasted as good and the evening as it read in the morning (the 'house' wine is also very good and would certainly not be described as such in the UK).
Front of house staff always give a warm welcome and are very attentive and could not be faulted.
Connor is the bar manager and is always there as a friendly face for a chat over the bar whether early or late.
The spa facilities were a welcome relief after each tough day on the slopes and although there was some maintenance through our stay, this was well communicated and disruption always kept to a minimum.
Ryan and Aidan (excuse my spelling) did a fantastic job of bringing everything together from a management perspective and again, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Jazz on the front desk was always a nice smile to come back to the hotel to and was very knowledgeable for any advice required.

From arriving at Geneva, through the bus transfer, check in and onwards, this really was a fantastic trip holistically but the hotel and its staff made it for us - thoroughly recommend it and we will be back next year for sure!!!

Kieran & Nicola

Room tip: Try the Genepy at Connors bar as a digestif - very nice!
