Le Grand Paradis has the best location in Val d’Isère for skiing, overlooking the lifts to both Solaise and Bellevarde. Ski rental is just around the corner, and the main street shops are just a few steps away.

We stayed in a south facing room, Austrian style, with a balcony overlooking the slopes. The room was cosy, with nice old wooden decoration. It was rather small, and lacked proper chairs. The bed was all right, but nothing special. Bathroom and toilet were separate and of high standard.

The room could only be booked with half-board. The dinners were fantastic; five courses, always starting with a soup, and ending with a cheese trolley and a desert buffet. The wine list was of high standard, a fine selection of aged French wines. The prizes were moderate compared to the quality.

The only source of irritation was the Wi-Fi, which did not work properly.

In all, a hotel you want come back to.

just got back from a week at this hotel, it was amazing right on the piste ski in/out ,very close to ski shop ,bars etc but still exceptionally quiet at night. -everything spotlessly clean, friendly efficient staff who couldnt do enough for you. the rooms we had were traditional with a lovely corner seat onto a wall that you could turn on and heat your back after skiing-lovely! bathrooms modern with fresh towels night and morning if required and a turn down bed service at night. breakfast was traditional french, but also you could have eggs, bacon, meats, cheese etc all served with a smile and fresh tea or coffe served to your table. dinner was excellent-and if you didntt like anything they would cook you something else!
only downside was the price of drinks as another rewiewer has said E31 for house wine and E 9 for wine in the bar per glass!
apart from that couldnt fault it and would def reccommend and return to this lovely hotel

Just got back from a great 7 nights at this hotel, skiing.
The location of this hotel is brillant - you can ski back to the hotel!
The food was sensational - 5 courses all delicious. an amazing selection of cheeses with every dinner. Buffet breakfast excellent. No skimping on anything!
Wine and drinks though are shockingly pricey at E31 for the cheapest bottle of wine.
Service polite and friendly.
Cheapest rooms were shabby with a horrid shower. More expensive rooms much better.
Ski school, ski pass shop and ski hire all just minutes away.
We took the train to Bourg St Maurice and a cab to the hotel took about 40 mins.

We were generally very happy with our stay.
The location is ideal, just in front of the slopes, in the midle of the village center.
The room was nice, but somewhat on the small side.

The restaurant was great, and the staff there amazing.
One night we didn't finish our winebottle, so they saved it as an aperitif for next evenings dinner. Another time they sent it to our room together with some pasteries.

All in all a great stay.

Superbly located on the nursery slopes, this is a very welcoming ski-in, ski-out hotel. It is decorated throughout in Austrian style, with ornate wood panelling everywhere.

The cusine is excellent, and the five course dinners are a real treat. The rooms are well appointed, the south-facing slope-view rooms are best, and of course, the most expensive.
