“Gavin Ableson, great stay in excellent location”

Just got back today from our stay with gary, tracy and steph and from the moment we got there they were superb,by the end of the first night they had remembered all our names which made for a very relaxed atmosphere and like living in your own home.We had the whole chalet, 10 adults and 4 children and with a big group it worked well, location was hard to beat as only a 5 min walk to nursery slopes and the start of the chair lifts and cable car, food was excellent, and being able to just walk in the kitchen and get a beer was nice and not at all awkward even with tracy cooking.having never stayed in a chalet before, I would now highly recommend it, especially if all hosts are this good.

Room Tip: Only had a quick look at other top floor rooms they all looked similar quality,we just had the rooms...

We booked into Bonjour Bivouac based on the reviews found here and was not disappointed.
We were very much last minute and the office staff (Becky) and one of the owners (John) could not have been more helpful.
We booked Tuesday to Tuesday due to previous commitments and everyone did their best to allow is to do this although it must have been inconvenient.
Gary met us off the Altibus (although we had been told that this woudn't be possible) and from then on both he, Tracy & Steph went the extra mile to do everything in their power to make our stay perfect.
We found the chalet clean, comfortable, cosy and very friendly. The food was excellent and plentiful as was the wine. Minor problems (like a blocked sink) were fixed in a blink and Gary as host went way beyond expectations to help make sure everything ran smoothly.
Previous experiences with hosted chalet holidays have been OK but this was in a different league altogether by comparison. We were very sad to leave having felt we had made really good friends.

Room Tip: We were in room 1 which people have said is on the small side... It is on the ground floor, and we f...

Gary and Tracy were fantastic hosts, especially as Tracy had a major problem with a knee injury.
Gary was a brilliant, enthusiastic ski host who was happy to adapt the speed of the day according to ability.

The Chalet is in a brilliant location 10m from the nursery slop and a very short 5 min walk to the centre of Val D'Isere.

I have stayed in Val D'Isere 8 times and would without doubt return to this chalet and would feel very reassured if Gary and Tracy were looking after me.

We stayed at the Bivouac for a week as part of two weeks with Ski Bonjour on a recommendation from friends. The deal here is that you get your own room and bathroom but meals are shared with other chalet guests. This makes the experience more akin to a homestay than what you would get at a hotel.

The chalet staff (Gary, Tracey and Steph) went above and beyond to deliver an incredibly high level of customer service. After a week in Paris, this was refreshing and greatly received. Gary was extremely generous and took us all up the mountain and showed us some of the better runs; all in his own time.

The meals were great and Tracey catered for my vegetarian girlfriend with tasty meat-free meal alternatives. Tracey also catered for my requirement to [attempt to] eat my body weight at every evening meal. The wine, whilst not top shelf, was plentiful, so by the end of each meal the banter was hilarious.

You must try Gary's porridge. It is a little known fact that the quality of morning porridge is a source of great rivalry between the various Bonjour chalets. If you stay here, you need to get the porridge. You also need to tell Gary that it is the best porridge you have ever eaten.

Can't wait to come back.

We have just got back from the Bonjour Bivouac in Val D'Isere. Having stayed with Ski Bonjour four times before, but in different chalets, we didn't think it could get any better, how wrong we were. From the moment we arrived our holiday was incredible, the other guests helped and we really felt as though we were in a home from home. But without Tracey, Gary and Steph, it would have just been another chalet holiday. They were incredible and became part of the group. The food was superb, the support and resort hosting fantastic and even when Tracey damaged her knee, everything went smoothly.
My only problem is finding time to go back.
Having skied and stayed in chalets for over 30 years I can honestly say that anywhere else will now be a disappointment.

Room Tip: They are all good.

12 friends stayed in the chalet for a week mid Feb & had a great time. The food was excellent, Tracey was fantastic and we are still missing the afternoon cakes!! Gary was a great ski host showing us the whole mountain, some great lunch spots and helping our mixed group of skiers and snowboarders superbly. Fantastic location, by far the best catered chalet I have stayed in. Sauna post skiing was a delight. Thanks Tracey, Gary and Steph! x
