We holidayed at the start of the season, arriving just after a significant snowfall which caused travel chaos for many guests. However that staff managed marvellously, making sure we had a great holiday, even if they were working extra time to ensure this.
The hotel rooms were basic but by no means shabby and were always faultlessly clean. The restaurant breakfasts and evening meals were good, with a good wine selection included.
The location of the hotel gives it atmosphere as you are in the middle of Val d'Isere but still no more than an easy, quiet 300 walk from the slopes.
Finally, the child care staff were brilliant; enthusiastic and very approachable.

We have just returned from a family trip to the Ducs Du Savoie through Esprit Ski. We were a group booking, with 3 adults and 2 children in one group and 2 adults and 2 children in the other. Our first impressions of the hotel were that it looked a little shabby, but the fantastic care and attention from the Esprit team, not to mention the amazing food, the quality of the hotel did not spoil our holiday in the slightest.
As a group we had 1 child (2 years) in the nursery and 2 children in the beginners/improvers ski school. The quality of the childcare was fantastic - the attitude of each and every staff member made this a holiday to remember.
We have booked through Esprit for many years and have always received high quality service but this was very special. They should be very very proud of the team they have developed - all young staff but with a better understanding of customer care than any mature rep I have ever come across - and this cuts across every staff member from the chalet maids to the hotel manager.
Obviously, the skiing was fantastic too (you are in Val D'Isere after all) - but the aded 'extras' (for example a chauffer to and from the local medical centre after hurting my knee, and the tips from staff on where to go 'apres ski') made this a brilliant family trip.
We would definitely return and would definitely recommend it.
The only 'wish' was a log fire.......

Room Tip: We were allocated connecting rooms - which slept 3 in one room and 2 with a cot in the other - this...

Have just returned from a ski holiday in Val D'Isere, this is an Esprit Ski hotel. Could not fault the staff at all.. from the moment we arrived at the chalet hotel to the time we were helped back to the coach on our way home.

Hotel is basic but all, in my view, you could want for a week on the slopes, rooms are clean, beds comfortable, and a powerful hot shower. We had a suite on the 4th floor (403/404) which consisted of an interconnecting room with a twin one side and a double the other, each room had a bathroom, seperate toilet and a bunk bed above the wardrobe in the hallway. There was ample space to unpack clothes, lots of shelves in the wardrobe as well as more shelves in each bedroom. Each room also has a flat screen TV and DVD player... with the added bonus of being able to plug a USB key into the TV to play films.

This was our first trip skiing with the kids (aged 3 and 5) and certainly won't be our last. The staff were amazing and really made our holiday special, the childcare (ski club/mini cocoa club and cocoa club) was fabulous and most importantly the kids loved it.. we passed the kids on occasions as they were off skiing, bum boarding, to the park and they hardy noticed us!

They also organised baby listening every night from 7.30 to 10.30 so you could enjoy dinner without worrying, a staff member sat on each floor and if a problem (which we never had) they could call downstairs for you.

The food was lovely, breakfast, afternoon tea (soup and cake) and dinner. The lounge is a little small for everyone but is cosy.. we were so exhausted after dinner we headed off to bed most nights so this didn't cause a problem.

The hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk from the bottom of the ski lifts but there is a free bus if you get tired of carrying your ski's which is regular and only a couple of stops.

A fabulous holiday and thanks to all at the hotel for a holiday to remember.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 403/404 which is a suite consisting of a twin and double and a bunk above the ward...

Just returned from an amazing family holiday with Espritski at Ducs de Savoie. The staff went above and beyond to cater for my son's nut allergy and everyone who went kept commenting on how amazing and attentive all members of staff were.

The rooms were very comfortable and spacious and the skiing was fabulous. We were blessed with wonderful weather too

The food was great and plentiful but I can not stress enough just how wonderful the staff were. Before we had even got on a pair of skis on the first day we were already vowing to return.

Thank you thank you thank you!

Great Family ski holiday in Val d'Isere. The food, staff and child care is great at the hotel. All the staff are all very attentive and always happy, smiling and make you feel very welcome. Esprit Family ski holidays really do think of everything a family could want on a ski holiday, down to little details like the children’s equipment being bussed up to the slopes so you don’t have to carry it. The hotel has a small bar/lounge area with leather sofas and a great happy bar man (Gordon) who is always happy, however when everyone is in the lounge you may not get a seat. In addition to the bar area is a separate dinning room, again has a cosy feel and seats everyone with ease. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the chef and staff always delivered a high standard meal every night. The children dine earlier than the adults (high tea) which is supervised again by fun Esprit staff on every table, approx 1 staff member to 6 children in the dinning room. Bedrooms are kept clean by the staff and are of a good size, with a separate bathroom and toilet.
Location, the hotel is in a good location in village, with the nearest lift only being a few mins walk away.
The children’s club (snow club) is located on the bottom floor, good size for the children to have fun in, with musically instruments, books, painting, colouring toys etc. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time there.
Esprit staff where in abundance in the resort/hotel and at the airport, the ratio of staff/guests was very noticeable compared to other ski tour operators.
Would 100% book with Esprit again.

Just returned from half term at this hotel - Ski Esprit are just the best ski company by far for children! and much cheaper too :) The hotel is basic - but it is clean & warm and we knew what we were expecting given the price we paid. Yes the hotel is down a small alley/side street but this is a huge plus as you are off the main road so nice & quiet at night. All families there were amazed at the ratio of staff to children and they are all so wonderful with them. It is only a short (few minutes) walk to the main area where the ski schools meet - the children are taken in groups (6 max) by an Esprit Snow Ranger. But what we did not know is that they take all the children's skis to the meeting point by van! What a great idea! The boot room has a heated rack so your boots are warm & dry the next morning. Remember to take your swimming gear as the pool in the town is well worth a visit. Childrens lunches, tea, cocoa club & listening service all brilliantly organised and a strict sign in & out policy so you know they are safe. My 7 year old had an absolute blast and made many friends. Adults dinner was OK but not fantastic - they try to do a la carte which is a mistake in my view - would be better to offer one a la carte & one basic homecooking option. Breakfasts & high tea were very good. Childrens meals were very good & if they did not like the main course they could have pasta and for puddings there were yoghurts & fresh fruit alternatives. We were 2 adults & one child and our room consisted of 2 single beds & a bizarre bunk bed on top of the wardrobe unit - my son took one look at it and said I'm not sleeping up there. I tried it for one night but very claustrophobic so next day I pulled the mattress down & put it on the floor. The manager Liz was very concerned that I was sleeping on the mattress on the floor & offered a folding Z bed but I was quite comfortable. Bathroom had a bath with shower over with plenty of hot water at any time. WiFi signal is very weak & reception was main place to try to get signal. The flights via Chambery were great with the shorter transfer time. Be aware that Esprit have a policy of allowing 4 year olds into beginner ski groups if they have previously been on an Esprit ski holiday in their Spritelets group - this practice should be stopped as it spoiled the beginners ski lessons for the older children & definitely held them back on what they achieved during the week. But overall we were so delighted with Ski Esprit that we booked for half term next year at another Esprit hotel whilst we were there!

This is the first skiing holiday we have had as a family. Myself and our 5 and 8 year old have never set foot on ski's unlike my husband. We booked everything through Esprit and they were excellent and attentive, from ensuring you had everything you need for skiing, to excellent food and clean spacious rooms.
They had booked our ski lessons in with Evolution 2 who were also excellent. I am nearly 40 and scared of heights and my insrtuctor, Marc, was patient and gave me the confidence to be coming down green and some parts of blue runs by the end of the 5 lessons.... this is me who was scared of a chair lift!!!
Any way... back to the hotel.... child care is excelllent allowing you to put the children to bed and then have an adults only meal at 8pm in the safe knowledge that your children are being monitored by the staff to ensure they sleep well.
The food was excellent at all meal times...breakfast, high tea and dinner.
If you wish to go to Val d'Isere but do not want to have to remortgage the house to do so this is a perfect choice, especially if you have young children as gthe child care is spot on.
