“Luxury at Sensible Prices”
Reviewed 7 December 2009

Skiing is not the cheapest of holidays and this is especially true in the French Alps. Put together a fabulous centrally located boutique-hotel-style chalet with beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean rooms with an excellent personal host who serves top quality, freshly prepared food and unlimited, very drinkable wine, throw in BA flights and smooth transfers and you'd expect to pay top dollar. The service is comparable to far more expensive companies and the price comparable to much more down market ones. VIP, the company who run Aspen Lodge, pull out all the stops with superb, yet unassuming, service, starting with the booking staff in the UK who know each property personally. Each suite (sleeping from 6) has it's own host who brings tea and coffee in bed, cooks breakfast, cleans, leaves delicious homemade cakes out each afternoon, prepares and serves dinner as well as finding out the weather forecast, organising restaurant reservations for lunch on the slopes (as well as for their one, well-deserved night off) and making sure that what ever you wish for (within human and legal limitations!) is catered for. We stayed in Mulberry on the top floor and the views out to the slopes, the high ceilings and the open fire made it more than worth the extra £30. The location is fabulous - on the main street, a couple of minutes walk in boots to the tourist office roundabout and another minute to the slopes, convenient for everything but incredibly quiet. we enjoyed it so much that we're going back next week!

Stayed in the Redwood suite, 6 guests in total, including 2 infants. The chalet is fantastic, almost like staying in a 5 star hotel but with the comforts of home. Brilliant location in the centre of the ski resort with only a 3 minute walk in ski boots to the main lifts. The food was excellent and the Concierge service is great. Added to which there is free internet access and a huge plasma with Sky Sports. Could not fault the service. We also had a private nanny for both the children who was excellent.
