“Casual travelers welcomed with open arms”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

My husband and I were in Vienne to visit the Roman ruins and the fantastic museum. Had heard about this restaurant so walked from the train station following the traffic signs to La Pyramide, which is actually a neighborhood named after an obelisk. We were dressed very casually and had not made reservations, but were welcomed and seated in the bistro - enjoyed a wonderful lunch. I would love to go back and try out the little cottage restaurant next door run by the same people who have the hotel, gastronomic fancy restaurant, and the bistro. As we were leaving we were given a menu signed by the chef. Very special service.

“Foodie's destination at a very fair price”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

The Michelin 2-star resto was full by 9 pm - and no wonder. The food was fabulous. Four diners had all had the tasting menu. We ordered 1/2 bottles of wine for each course from the extensive wine list that was very fairly priced. We had discussed not eating all of each course. It didn't happen. The food was just too good, and the servings were perfectly sized. The staff was invisible and very prompt. Everyone spoke excellent English, except for chef Henriroux. This was one of the greatest meals of 100's in France. After dinner, we crawled off to our rooms. The rooms were large and a bit tired. We were very comfortable for a long sleep on a rainy night. For the price, this was a try value. However, it wasn't inexpensive. This is a great foodie's destination. Chef is very creative, and his staff made beautiful and multi-layered flavorful food.

“Superb”
Reviewed 30 July 2013

I was fortunate enough to have lunch at this beautiful Restaurant whilst on a French Language tour. All waiting staff were extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The Sommelier took time to introduce and explain the complexities of the wines that were to accompany the courses on the menu. Each wine was beautifully matched. The Lunch at Restaurant La Pyramide is certainly value for money. The attention to detail is simply stunning. I would suggest that if you intend to eat here - book well in advance. The outside garden area is beautiful, the weather wasn't conducive to eat outside the day I went. Maybe next time!

“Chef on site”
Reviewed 29 May 2013

La Pyramide is famous, so famous one doesn't really expect its chef to actually be there -- Patrick Henriroux was there, stayed late, and I do think it makes a huge difference. What a perfect meal. Perfect.

“Worth more than 2 star!”
Reviewed 1 April 2013

Once upon a time there was a restaurant, la Pyramide by Fernand Point for which the third Michelin star was said to be created. It kept this award until the death of Fernand Point, and far beyond, since Mme Point passed away. All the actual great names of the French gastronomy learned there. It had its real influence on the actual French cuisine. Unfortunately it passed between hands and lost its shine for a quite short period. In 1989, it had beed taken over by chef Patrick Henriroux, earned back its first star after one year and a second after 3 years. It stays at this level since this.
Today it's a shining large dining room, with nice menus, even a quick lunch for businessmen. Also there is a 30 places conviviality area, where you can have food based on the available ingredients prepared in front of the guest.
The cuisine of the main restaurant is well built up, fine, really nice, based on local products, as it was during Fernand Point's time. A great experience!
