“Very nice hotel”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

We had a wedding a few miles away from the hotel. So for us it was well located but otherwise there is not a lot of interesting things around. There is one street with tons of shops. That's it :-)

The rooms are clean and spacious, the bathroom was really nice too. The hotel is still pretty new. Don't know how it will be in a few years.

There is a train station up the street, so easy access from there too (and not noisy, at least to me).

We ate at the restaurant, the food was delightful although a pricy. Breakfast is not included but there was a lot of choice.

Cocktails at the bar were amazing but count 10 to 14 euros for a cocktail.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with shower, apparently the ones with a bath don't have a bath curtain :-)

I have stayed here twice now. Spotlessly clean hotel with a minimalist style. The location is not exactly interesting, but it is OK. Unlike others I did not have any problems with the trains despite facing the railway. The restaurant is as good as it gets.

A year ago, I would have given this hotel 5 out of 5 for everything. It's modern, clean and efficient without being cold. The only niggles now were that I couldn't get the air co to work and that water wasn't draining from the shower properly, meaning I had to curtail my shower to avoid flooding the bathroom. Having said that, I would recommend the hotel without reservation (ha ha). While my room overlooked the railway line, I heard only one train. The restaurant is first class and the service excellent. I can't wait for the stop-over on the way back home.

Another thimbs up from me!
Modern hotel.
Large airy reception. Very helpful and pleasant staff.
The hotel is very proud of it's restaurant. Although we didn't eat dinner here we understand that it is of very high quality. Breakfast was excellent.
Rooms spacious and clean. Although ours looked straight on to a train viaduct we didnt hear the train once due to excellent sound isolation.
Toilet and bathroom are separate which is a good thing because the one thing that brings my rating down is a silly glass wall between bedroom and bathroom. Some people might think this OK, but not me. The shower had no hook so either you had to hold the shower all the time or place it in the bath when soaping in. I got the impression the designer had never stayed in a hotel before and didn't quite understand the needs of a traveler.
I would stay there again.

Reviewed 2 November 2013

I was booked into this hotel by a local lady who said it was excellent. On arrival the decor and room was indeed first class. But I had asked specifically for a quiet room and instead I got one that had a railway with freight trains running so close that it felt as if they were arriving in my room. The bathroom was large but no separate shower which was disappointing. The room service for my evening meal was very good but the following morning was a down hill experience. I was trying to set off in good time and had pre-ordered an iron which took two phone calls and 20 minute delay in getting. If I had not been trying to get away quickly this would not have been the end of the world but I was on a tight schedule. Breakfast was interesting! A fantastic array of artistic moments displayed in front of a glass pannelled Kitchen full of about half a dozen men being very very busy. What with I am not sure as there was only two of us in the whole restaurant. As they had scambled eggs on offer I asked could I possibly have a fried egg. I then got a ticket for two eggs at 6 euros which I thought must be golden eggs but still I signed as I did want an egg! I took coffee from a machine which was very bitter even though I like expresso style coffee and then I sat back and waited and waited and waited. 5 minutes to cook an egg is a long time.10 minutes is silly! The waitress was very embarrassed as the egg was not the issue it was the lack of a plate. I smiled and told her any plate would be fine even the one on my table. She went to the glass palace of chefs and seemed not to be able to get the egg... I then said I would have to leave as I was now getting very late. But then the first egg arrived slightly burnt on the edges but still it was an egg and so I then had to ask for the toast which was half frozen to be done again by which time the whole egg affair reached new heights with a second egg in a tiny pot which looked worse than egg no 1! I almost felt hysteria creeping in as I have a good sense of humour and was not about to let myself become egg bound! No enough was enough this egg had to go back to the chef and off to reception to complain I went. One of the French speaking owners appeared through interepreters at reception to be on my side with the cost of the eggs being withdrawn. This was an international event with two other french guests explaining that eggs were not the French style breakfast ( hmmm so what is the difference between a fried egg and scambled after all it was not a packet mix in this high cusine kitchen!) So the eggs deducted I was given FREE PARKING by way of compensation and although I could have had apparently a quiet room and some sleep this was not the case and I had to understand this was an architectural issue!! Well for 187.00Euro this was truly not good value even though the decor was very artistic as was the design of the food. I should imagine dinner at this hotel would be first class as my evening meal which I took as room service was fantastic. Would this swing it for another visit. Yes for dinner but not to stay if you want a restful and peaceful nights sleep.(or fried eggs!)

Room Tip: If you want sleep insist on getting a room at the back or dont expect any sleep

We stayed here one night on our way to Spain late July 2013. The hotel offers modern and well equiped, sound proof rooms. Check in was efficient despite an error in the reservation by Booking.com. Very helpful staff. We enjoyed the food in the hotel restaurant. "Ici et La" is a perfect alternative for all those so called romantic inns with outdated facilities. W'll stay again on out next trip to the South. Easy parking in the basement garage.
