“Excellent romantic escape in the heart of Baden Baden”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2014

Being just myself on this visit to Baden Baden I was looking for something luxurious but cozy, small and centrally located. Mind that Baden Baden is not just a spa place, each corner whispers about the leisure walks of queens, kings, famous writers and celebrities from all around the world.‎ Nothing blends more naturally that this little jewel, tribute to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry ahd his "Little Prince".

You are warmly greeted like a good acquaintance from the very beginning which accentuates this old that this beautiful villa just embraces you and beckons you to relax. Everything is French style, in the good sense of the word, very clean and very home like. The Little Prince winks at you from the painted walls, the plates in the restaurant in a relaxing, soothing atmosphere with classic piano music slowly playing in the background.

The hotel offers a great variety of rooms and apartments, being alone I opted for a superior room and just spend my first night there. On the bad side, they need to work a bit on the quality of the windows frames, which being modern is till a bit lower quality that you would expect, also important for noise insulation. The bathroom was very clean, though you would expect some good quality shampoos/douche gels and related so the lack of was a bit of inconvenience.

The hotel is in a perfect location, right next to the Lichtentaler Alee, very easy to find and also close to the shopping streets, city center and related. Everything is literally within 5 minutes walk and the personnel was extremely helpful in providing all the necessary instruction how and where to get. One note on the restaurant - the atmosphere is fantastic, the service is impeccable. The choice of food is excellent, however I was slightly disappointed by the quality of the food - it was certainly not on par with the ambient atmosphere and service. They literally try to do anything to please you but I would expect a bit more from the quality of the lunch and dinner I had there.

Overall I was very pleased with this hotel for the price they charge the overall experience is very good and I will definitely be going back again.

This was our first ever visit to Baden Baden and our decision to choose this hotel was heavily influenced by the fact that some of the guest rooms have real open fires.
We arrived on a very wet night by train and then taxi (16 euros) from the station about 15 mins drive away. The hotel itself is very central and the town easy to explore on foot.
On arrival in a very small and rather underwhelming reception area we were given the choice of two rooms with fires. One was in the same building as reception on the 4th (top) floor which we declined mainly because there was no door on the bathroom or even the toilet. This was a deluxe double room.
The one we chose was a junior suite which was in the other building which was accessed through an outside courtyard. This room was a good size with a jacuzzi bath and bathroom and toilet with doors you could close. This room was on the 3rd floor which we thought was the top floor but after a peaceful first night found out to our cost that the penthouse was above it. We had a disturbed nights sleep because of birthday celebrations going on above us and also in the morning a group of guests checking out at 5am.
We decided not to chance another night with the guests above us so moved to the first room we were shown for our third nights stay. The hotel managed this with sympathy and gave us a bottle of champagne to compensate which we thought was a nice touch.
We ate dinner in the restaurant on the first night of our stay and enjoyed the quality of the food and excellent service. My husband chose the venison which he said melted in his mouth. We had a drink beforehand in the lounge on the first floor which was pleasant but felt a bit unwelcoming with only half of it lit up.
The breakfasts were also good. There was a cooked option if we wanted it. We took advantage of this on our last morning and it was freshly made for us. There were also the most delicious Laugen bread rolls, the nicest I have ever tasted.
The church is close to the hotel and the bells stop at 10pm and start again at 6am.
We enjoyed our stay despite having some noise problems from other guests.

My wife and I recently visited Baden-Baden, a beautiful, relaxing and cozy german town. Our stay at the Der Kline Prinz included fine services, kindly attention, staff friendliness, picturesque room and a most tasty breakfast and afternoon tea, all of which made this yearly honeymoon one to remember. Our next trip to Europe will surely include another visit to this magincal town and this cozy boutique hotel.

We stayed the end of August 2013. The room was beautiful and everyone was very nice and helpful. I can't wait to go back again. My granddaughter was with me on the trip. Since she never read the Little Prince, we read it together. She would look at all the pictures at the hotel and tell me whether we were at the point in the book.

Once again, Der Kleine Prinz more than lived up to our expectations. From the warm welcome to the beautiful room, to the fantastic staff, we cannot praise this hotel enough. The lounge with free computer is delightful. The wifi works - and is free. Be sure to take afternoon tea at the sister hotel Belle Epoque on their balcony overlooking their tranquil garden. We look forward to returning to Der Kleine Prinz again soon.

we are on the last leg of a 5 week tour of Europe, with temps in the mid 90s most of the time. This is the first hotel with air conditioning, and by far, the best customer service. they kept the diningroom open a bit longer so we could have lunch, and gave us a welcome tray of fresh fruit delivered to our room. the room is twice the size we've had, and that includes nice rooms from the Westin, Wyndham and Hilton and Monopol. Staff has been very helpful in arranging sightseeing trips, and helping us find someone to do our laundry. This is a real 5 star hotel in my book!

Room Tip: we stayed on the 4th floor looking out over the roof tops, and could see spires of a beautiful churc...

We were recently in Karlsruhe and decided to take a weekend in Baden Baden. I chose this hotel on-line as one of the few with air conditioning. However, note that the less expensive rooms don't have air conditioning. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the hotel. Our room was very nice - and because of the nice large windows we didn't need any air conditioning even in July. The staff is amazing compared to most European hotel staffs. They went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is small, elegant and very comfortable. It is within a 5 minute walk to all shopping, spas, restaurants but is tucked away in a quiet street close the park. Breakfast was very good with typical meats, cheeses, fruits, yogurt, etc. but was served in a beautiful breakfast room with silver serving pieces and lovely tables with nice linens. Again, a step above the usual breakfasts in Europe. The hotel had free wifi but the reception was a little difficult. There were times we weren't able to connect, but for the most part I was able to connect.

Room Tip: Be sure to specify air conditioning if that is important to you. Some rooms are without.
